Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Hey guys

Just wondering why there aren't more repaints for Deane's Fletchers around?! There've been HUNDREDs around the country, many unique schemes...just take a look through the book The Topdressers 1990. Some real interesting paintjobs there.

I'm doing my bit with occasional WAW repaints - ZK-CMK is up at FlightSim

and I;ve just finished uploading DJE in an old scheme as well.

So, where are they? Bring on the Fletchery goodness! tongue.gif

I love Deane's Fletchers too ... though I've yet to see one in RL.

Just a note though ... to all repainters ... *please* give me all the info - as and when you upload them to a public site - so I can add them to the database winkyy.gif

Oh sorry dude!

Both of mine are at Flightsim.com:
Name: zk_dje.zip Size: 1,957,983 http://flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=132881
Name: zk_cmk.zip Size: 2,002,073 http://flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=130853
Just search for Fletcher, or Zac Yates.

Hang on, you've NEVER seen a Fletcher?! Ye gods man, you've not LIVED until you've experienced first-hand the mighty roar of the 400hp Fu24!!!

Youve lived in Auckland too long Adam - you need to get beyond the Bombay hills ! smile.gif ..Fletchers are nearly as common as Cessnas out in the country ...every rural town's Aerodrome seems to have at least one Fletcher (although they are more than likely turboprop powered nowadays).

Thanks for those, Zac ... I'll get onto it! smile.gif I know Fletchers are primarily "work" planes, but they look really fun to fly.

Naki - yes ... too right! I *hate* Auckland ... can't wait to get away. My only consolation is that I live N.Shore - so not too far from Whenuapai ... so see loads of my beloved Hercs wub.gif

Working on a representation of ZK-CLI, a 300hp Fletcher, at the moment. Would be nice to have the early models in FS....hint hint!

And Deane, how comes the Cresco?

Paintkit! PAINTKIT!

PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINTKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT! tongue.gif

Until then...

EML, the yellow one, may still be in Marlborough Aerial Work colours but check the CAA website - she belongs to WAW. I made a couple of fantasy additions to reflect this tongue.gif note the pilot's name hehe

Nah, just been researching all 26 Fletchers operated by Aero Work over the years...and decided to do some for FS....also doing ZK-EHX at the moment!

Sorry but zero progress on the Cresco. I have had no time for FS in the past 10 months since I've been working in Wellington. I might however look at peeling the Fletcher back to a 1970's 950 version, with a more basic cockpit and without all the modern extras like aileron end plates, mud flaps, gps etc, and with the original cowl.

Email me - deaneb@ihug.co.nz and let me know what program you are using. I can send layered PSP format files. That will make it real easy !!

Haha I'm just using MSPaint! Easy as it gets....

Considering most of the WAW repaints I'm doing ATM are early 950s anyway, would they work with a new model?

I've made a "blank" template for use with WAW machines, hence being able to toss them out so quickly! CZA, EHX and others will be up later today smile.gif

Yeah she's not bad aye winkyy.gif Here's another view of the lineup, from inside the 500D this time:

And another with EML in shot:

I hope to do the vast majority of WAW Fletchers, all those in red and white anyway....for now I don't fancy tackling the original bare metal or light blue schemes.....

Deane - keep the Fletchers coming! I only ask about the Cresco because many folk seem to like it, but I'd much rather see a further few Fletcher models. 225, 300, the prototype....Super Air V8 perhaps.....

Keep an eye out at FlightSim.com in the coming days for new paints: zk_cza.zip, zk_djd.zip, zk_egk.zip, and zk_ehx.zip. Enjoy!
