To get the full effect of these HD Repaints you'll need make a small change to your FSX.CFG file
this file can be found in the following folder
Windows XP : C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX
Windows Vista : C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX
Note:
"Hidden files and folders" have to be disabled in order for you to see this file.
to enable this do the following
Control Panel
Folder Options
View Tab
Scroll down 40and put a bullet in "Show hidden files and folders"
Click "Apply"
Once you can see the FSX.CFG file you can open it for editing with word/note pad
Once open look Under the heading
[GRAPHICS]
You need to change the first line under this heading from
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024
to
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096
and then save the file & exit word/note pad
The above value gets reset to 1024 any time you make changes within the FSX display options so you may want to check it from time to time to see if it has been reset
if it has make sure FSX is not running just re-open re-edit to 4096 & re-save the FSX.CFG file[/quote]
there is more to the readme so make sure you take a look at what it says etc and always backup your textures just incase but you all knew that anyway ...lol
and there are all the support files in the main fsx folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Ozx HD Repaint Docs+Support\
