Hey there,

Well here is the list that I would recommend if you want freeware...

1900D - Have yet to find a decent one
Q300 - Have yet to find decent one
ATR - Have never really bothered about this but ISDT have a pretty good one I believe..ISDT
737 - The vistaliners 737 300 with all of Dans repaints smile.gif
A320 - The project Airbus with Ken Mitchells Panel and a decent sound pack
767 - Probably the POSKY model
777 - The POSKY model
747 - Possibly the POSKY model

You can make them much better with some panels and sound packs smile.gif

The 1900D I use isn't fantastic, but it has an Air NZ paint. It was designed for FS2002 but it's ok with FS9 (don't know about FS X).
It is of unknown origin and has no readme, but download it here.

I have the Francisco Sanchez-Castaner ATR which is okay, but the ISDT one might be better.
Search for his name on Avsim and you should find it. I have the Air NZ textures here.

I don't know about a good Q300, but Premier Aircraft Design makes one that I think has an Air NZ paint (if not, one could be made). I have no idea if it's any good.

For the others I'll second Project Opensky - they really are good, high quality aircraft. Their recently released 777 is excellent thumbup1.gif.
I have ARNZ's Baby Boeings which I think are pretty good, but the consensus is that Vistaliners is the best 737 classic.

Does your repaint map to both the FS9 & FSX models? Jamie

(This is what I use freeware wise)

Air NZ 737: Vistaliners - Good model with range of NZ repaints but no wingview.
FFX - Reasonable model with Air NZ repaints

Air NZ 767: Posky 767-200/300 are fantastic models with wingviews.

Air NZ 747: Posky 747-400 fantastic model with wingviews

Air NZ 777: Posky or Meljet. Posky model=bigger download but better quality

Air NZ A320: Project Airbus. Very good model and wingviews.

Air NZ ATR-72: Francisco Sanchez-Castaner. Has good externtal model with high quality panel and a reasonable Virtual Cockpit and Cabin

Air NZ 1900d: I personally use the PMDG 1900d but there is the Premiere Aircraft version which looks reasonable

Air NZ Q300: Premiere Aircraft has an OK version.
Oleksiy Frolov created a very realistic version but no Air NZ repaint as of yet. Basic model but detailed panel works well with merges

Just say so if you want me to point you in the direction of some really good panels for these aircraft (if they don't come with them)
Also I have a very good A320 soundpack that doesn't have the whining you get at the front when sitting at the back.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

lol you could allways use the default FSX craft and use flightsim.co.nz skins to make them into NZ aircraft

Do we have (anywhere on this forum) a full list of all the major carriers in NZ (and their aircraft) - with links to both payware and freeware models+repaints - for both FS9 and FSX? Has someone done this anywhere else?

I'm thinking of creating a page somewhere (that I can update) with all the fleets in some kind of a tabular format. Must have been done by someone, Shirley?

Well, the post was perfectly legitimate, but the pattern shows a slightly different picture. Just imagine how I'd be received at ARNZ if I plugged NZFF in every post. winkyy.gif

In any case, I believe (someone please correct me if I'm mistaken) that Scotty is looking for FS9 aircraft. smile.gif

Yes, that's true, and the suggestion itself wasn't beyond the pale. But look here, at the top of flightsim.co.nz is a big banner saying 'ARNZX' all over it, one is definitely the other, and there's no denying it.

But please everyone, keep your hats on, I don't think we've had to use the lock or delete button on a thread for a very long time; would be a pain to have to remember how to do it. Everyone knows NZFF is here and ARNZ is there (I've even linked those up in case anyone was confused), and so I don't think there's a need for any blatant advertising, and any of that wouldn't be helpful as things are getting warm in here. smile.gif

As Alex and Charl have said in this thread, and other threads on NZFF, the bottom line is that we don't want any trolling.

I think Charl's and Robin's threads are as clear as mud. We don't need this, and as Charl said above; "NZFF tends to be a lot more civilised than that..."

As Alex said, theres no need for any more discussion, lets leave the problem here.

Now, lets get this thread back on topic, which was discussing freeware Air New Zealand aircraft available online.

OK - I'll bite ... can I repost the msg lost in the "other" discussion?

I was thinking of databasing it, so we could easily pull out different views/listings - according to aircraft type, airline, payware/freeware, FS9/FSX etc. Each entry could have information and links to associated files. Has it been done?
