2. C-47-As Eisenhower said, The skytrain, bazooka, atom bomb and jeep were the 4 weapons that won the war.
3. B-17-guns for Africa
4. P40- Powerhorse GRRRRRR
5. Corsair-Who doesn't like seagull wings
6. Dauntless- Love the rear gunner-IL2 freak!
7. Nakajima Ki-43 - just looks fearsome
8. Fieseler Fi 156 Storch - most people would laugh at this but i can't help but have some fascination for it.
9. Heinkel 111 - Simply beautiful
10. Junkers Ju-87 Stuka - I'm with you on that keiran- just a beautiful plane.
This list is not based on performance, just what looks great visually and is not ranked as each is to its own.
Great idea, helped get through another hour of work! oooh yeah friday!
Nice choice kiwibarguy.I can't think of a better aircraft during ww2 that was more suited for it's roll than the stuka I mean yeah so what it was easy to shot
down but I mean it's so graceful when it dives down it's like a eagle sweeping down on it's prey.Last edited by yak52dude on Fri Jun 13, 2008 3:54 pm, edited 1 time in total.

2. Spitfire (V, IX, XIV and Mk 22)
3. FW 190 (all models, inclusive of the Ta 152)
4. P 47 Thunderbolt (Razorbacks - pre D-25 models)
5. He 219 Uhu (radar, bang-seat, Schräge Musik... 'nuff said)
6. B 17 'nuff said
7. B 24 (see above)
8. Fi 156 Storch (ever seen a real one fly? you could almost convert those fling-wing nutters with one of these...)
9. Westland Lysander (see above)
10.Polikarpov I-153 (the ballsiest biplane fighter ever built?)
nice 1 alfashark I was going 2 put the bf-109 1 st as well but 4 some reason i just like the p-38 but i must say if it came down 2 it I'd put the 109 1st aswell but i wouldn't be fear.

haha I'd hate to be in one Ian, but I think it's a beautiful design as far as 'string bags' go!

But it was a brilliant aircraft, in the early years of the Pacific War, dogfighting one of those, in any other aircraft, had only one outcome

Yeah but we must remember that it was a stolen design from Howard Hughes, and once it was captured, the US knew who to defeat it.Last edited by yak52dude on Sat Jun 14, 2008 3:35 pm, edited 1 time in total.
