As a light aircraft (props) fan I spent most of my time in the nearest thing I have to payware - the RealAir Cessna 172 that they put out for the Kangan Batman Training outfit in Melbourne. I have all the usual Pipers etc but a lot of them lack the detail and feel I would like.

Can anyone recommend something in the Payware line that they rave about, I'm loathe to spend my bikkies on a pure quess.

Secondly, from the point of view of repainting my RealAir Cessna, is it based on the default Cessna from the point of view of adding a new paint-job.?

I suggest you get the Carenado Cessna 182Q, Aerosoft DHC Beaver and RealAir Scout.

Okay heres a list (I have a lot of these a/c so I can endorse many of the ones I have listed) which I think are the best - I think you are usingFS2004?:

Dreamfleet - these models are loaded with realistic avionics
Piper Archer 111
Beechcraft B-58 Baron
Beechcraft A-36 Bonanza
Piper Dakota

They have other models but they are getting on a bit now.

Carenado - real nice interiors and exteriors but dont have the avionics of the Dreamfleet aircraft. Carenado A/C are generally cheaper than other models.
Mooney 201
Cessna 182RG
Cessna 182Q
Cessna 206

They have other models as well but I feel these are the best

Flight 1 - good solid models
Cessna 172R
Beechcraft Super King Air 200 (Aeroworx)
Commander 112

They also have other models but I feel these are the best

Aerosoft/Digital Aviation - very nice inside and out but a bit frame rate heavy -
Piper Cheyenne
Dornier DO-27 (has some really interesting features!)
Diamond Katana

Realair - very nice models with great flight dynamics - also do a Spitfire which is excellent
SF-260
ACA Scout/Decathalon/Citabria

Also check out my list of NZ repaints for a lot of the above models here.

I have the Flight1 Flying Club Tomahawk, and I'm quite satisfied with that.

I missed that one- got a link please?

I'd also join Naki in recommending the Carenado stuff, top quality that is. I also have the Just Flight (not Flight1) Flying Club Tomahawk, and that set of aircraft is quite dated in today's payware market- the payware planes from Real Air are also exceptional!

Yep Anything Carenado is good, and the RealAir SF-260 is probably the best GA aircraft I have tried.

What did you end up getting Bazza?

I should of added the Eaglesoft Cirrus & Columbia to the list - frame rate heavy but if you want Glass cockpits they are pretty good.

Sorry Trolly, didn't see your post. This is the Real Air Cessna I mentioned, although if you googled it you would have found it by now. I haven't used a default one since I D/L'd this one, I find it much more realistic.

Naki,

I have to confess to not having got anything yet. While surfing the suggestions I got side-tracked with the Aircraft Heaven Grumman Jet, and have just got their Tutor Spitfire.
Am impressed with the appearance of the Grumman, and just discovered that the Spitfire has a "blackout" facility which caught me out in my first hairy manoever. :o

Cheers Bazza, I think I have seen this one before but thought it was for FS2002. I've just downloaded it now and will give it a try this weekend ;)
