Hi,

I have a freeware Air New Zealand 737 (can't remember who published it). Great aircraft with great textures and great sound. Only thing it is missing is a virtual cockpit. So, I don't like flying it much.

Does anyone know where I can get a skin that is compatible with the FSX default 737-800?

Cheers
Si

Cheers Charl. I should have edited my post... I remembered that I've got these 737 skins - I just didn't have an aircraft .cfg editor to apply them. Have got one now.

All you need is to open it with notepad or word etc

Yeah, I tried that, but when I tried to save it, I got a message saying I couldn't. Tried saving the file to my desktop and a few other things with no joy.

I downloaded the freeware version of Tweak Aircraft FSX this morning. That should make it easier.

What was the message? I add the changes and exit, it then asks if I want to save.

You could always save the file as something else (i.e a text file - '.txt'), and then rename the file extension to '.cfg'. But if you're already set up with your program you might as well use that. winkyy.gif

There were a few issues I seemed to have. I could save the file after I edited it in word. Post save was the problem "“ It wouldn't let me change the file extension to .cfg either.

I did change an aircraft .cfg file somehow a few weeks back, but I'm darned if I remember how. I think I fluked it somehow.

Right click the file --> properties and make sure that 'read only' is not ticked. If it is, untick it, save the file, then tick it again.

I don't know if that is the problem, but it has been for me before winkyy.gif

Worked out the problem... Was trying to save over the file in it's aircraft folder.

So instead I copy the .cfg to somewhere like the desktop, edit it, save it and then copy it back into the aircraft folder, it works no worries that way.
