That Baron

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Thanks to Naki mucking about in his Baron, (and producing ever-more impressive screenshots) I finally got round to installing the Dreamfleet Baron.
Those who have wavered, waver no longer, it really is a pleasure.
Here seen in personalised guise at NZWN in company of a bit of GNZLAP wildlife:

But wait! Not many models can handle this close a zoom without going bumpy on the polygons, this one is as smooth as...

That is an HP notebook on the dropdown table, on which you can click away in the virtual cabin also.
Could maybe play Flight Simulator on a long overwater trip?

Great aircraft to cruise alongside AI with:

And with some shipping about in Wellington and surrounds, it's all a pleasure.

...on the topic of splendid aircraft, check out this lovely bit of kit:

It's on AVSIM, "ys-11t-a.zip"
From the readme: The YS-11T-A replaced the DC-3/C-47 based R4D-6Q as a training aircraft for Japan Maritime Self Defence Force. The 205 Kyoiku Kokutai (Training Squadron) operates six YS-11T-A aircraft, all based at Shimofusa Air Base, near Tokyo. The aircraft are used to train navigators, tactical personnel, radar operators and anti-submarine crews.

This is a rival to Rick Piper's work.
There is quirky detail so you need to be into aircraft operational stuff: I didn't watch the turbine gas temperature, so the port engine overheated, went into autofeather, and shut down!

Nice one Charl - see you have a personalised scheme (a derivative of the Jaguar scheme?) already! (Edit: whoops should of read your first post more carefully - you do mention the personalised scheme) There seems to be an increasing number of Dreamfleet Barons around here.

The Dreamfleet Archer 111 is also very nice - actually visually it might be slightly better although would expect that being released two years after the Baron.

Cheers

Paul

PS must try the YS-11 as well sometime

It will happen apparently (but may take sometime) - I have read on the Dreamfleet site that they will port the Baron and Archer 111 into FSX but not their 310, Archer 11 and 177.

This may sound weird, but that paint scheme is actually the default FS Baron reverse-engineered onto the Dreamfleet version, and then tweaked.
And of course I forgot to mention the astonishing Towerguy tour which subliminally added glamour to the aircraft.
Mercifully he didn't crash it in the jungles of deepest Africa!
