I really enjoyed this aircraft in P3D so I'm looking forward to rattling around in it.

Other names used by the men who flew them were "The Whale", the "Curtiss Calamity", and the "plumber's nightmare

Didn't they perform better 'over the hump' than the C-47s?

I can remember these being used in the film “Air America” with Mel Gibson.

I don't recall the C46 being in that film. The C123 and the Fairchild Porters took center stage.

A few errors in that page but yeah. C123 and Porters along with the UH1 made up most of the aircraft in that film

My memory was wrong too...I thought Mel was flying Caribous not C-123s
