Just saw some footage of that supersonic airliner, we'll never see the like again...

I'll turn this into a poll later, when there are 12 candidates
Concorde
VC10
B707

Spitfire

Can't disagree with that list - ones I would add would be the Hawker Hunter, Mirage 111 and the Fairey Fantome -
see here for a picture of the Fantome.

Concorde for fame .. shape easy .. old but expected ....TU144 mm .. its angry posture!

VC-10 the Ill62 .. Heck ..live in Europe 60's/70s/80s/90's .. Veiw'd a 10 at NZCH B)

707 .. well ... old 737 with another 2 eggs and stretched .. JohnyT owns 1

Spitty .. to the Spitful ... that where it end s .. all versions , Superb

Supersonic oldies maybe not all .

Just wonder if a Fantome can push the Barrier :) , only in a dive without wings

BUT ? still ha not been answered ....

Yep, gotta love the spitfire.

I don't really like the Concorde's looks. Perhaps I'm not very nostalific but I really like the B737-800

Naki how could I have left the Hunter out?
But a Fantome?. I can be excused for this, never having even heard of the beast.
Mind you learning from your link that its sole contribution to the war effort was at a
"gas contamination practice unit at Rollestone in 1940" I tip my hat to the extent of your encyclopaedic knowledge of absolutely irrelevant aeroplanes  . Not bad looking though.
Tempest and P51...great planes, but beautiful?? Mmm
Trolly I am going to pretend I did not see your post here.
I am going to add an Airbus now: A340-500, perfectly proportioned airliner, same as 707.

Tiger Moth.

Complete b*gger to fly, but on a Summer evening at 80mph over the countryside, it simply can't be beat. But a Cub with the doors off will come close....

mmm agree with the Constellation.

Okay the Fantome is little obscure how about the Hawker Fury (1930's RAF biplane) which is similar or for something more modern I like the steamlined shape of the Falco F8 or its New Zealand composite equilvalent shown here - although I guess this has yet to fly. Or how about the Transavia Airtruck (only kidding!)

Well I would rather QF than Air New Zealand any day

But mine would have to be the

737
777
F-16
O and the 747

And lets put in the mighty Grumman AA-1C

I'm gonna say, the Cessna 210, 707, 737 NG's, and the C-130.

Go Chopper!
Interesting thought is Spit variants, I guess there is going to be THE Spit which defines the breed.
