They did have a couple here in New Zealand , you would have met Alistair Mclean , he flew them for a short time after his RNZAF service in Hawke's Bay region.

I have always had a soft spot for the Aero Commanders.
Carenado do the GA stuff very well. Superb modelling. But they sometimes let themselves down on systems modelling, documentation and FDE on the more sophisticated types.

I should mail Alistair, last time I stopped with him was when Ade was here from the UK , good book , course the history.

Bought it last night

Only had time for one quick test flight but it is really well done

It flies beautifully and does Bob's barrel rolls with ease and handles with an engine out easily

They have upped their game and taken notice of A2A's ideas to give the simulation more realisim and introduced the sense of movement so things start shaking while you are taking off and still in contact with the ground, reinforced by a good sound set you can hear the panel shaking away as the wheels send the runway's ripples through the airframe

I don't have the 350 Chieften but from their website it also has this feature

I know Carenado often gets bagged for producing "screenshot queens" but it looks like they are really responding to the criticism with this one and all kudos to them

I have been waiting for this for some time as this would have to be my favourite light twin and I am definitely very happy with it so far

Next will be a bit of IFR to make sure the avionics work properly, but given they are still pretty much steam driven I am not expecting any issues there

Looking forward to as low as you can Screen with that glass of water

Thanks for the Heads up Cooch. I'm tempted to shoo the moths from the wallet and grab it as well.
Is single engine asymmetric flight modeled well or is there the usual lack of yaw?
Make sure the HSI works the correct way (LOC/VOR indication). Usual culprit.
They really do need to sort out their paint kits.

Ive decided to get it .... god knows i could be hit by a meteorite at anytime , and would never have experienced this type

Assymetric yaw is pretty good requiring full rudder by the time you've slowed up to the vmca red line

HSI works ok as does the fixed card adf

Only 2 gripes

The pitch button on the autopilot does not move to give a visual indication that pitch mode is selected, pitch mode does work though

And you cannot tune the #1 VOR on the pop up GNS530, you have to use the instrument in the VC

Otherwise it's great
