wow that looks great do you know of a really easy to read simple tutorial to get started repainting? i really want to just be able to slap a good texture on an aircraft and fly, and ive heard of people doing this.

Not detailed enough for your requirements, but there's a couple of distant shots of the aircraft NZ3631 at:

Yep... that's cos I'm a Newbie looking for the paint job.
I haven't seen the finished paint file yet so I figured Hamish might be still working on it.
Post a link if it's available.

I see that the RNZAF DC6s led a very interesting life:

There's a fs9.gif version on FlightSim.Com ... rnzafdc6.zip (by Jens Kristensen repainted by Hamish Harvey) ... requires dc6_v20.zip

I have fsx.gif only. I'll give it a go and see what happens winkyy.gif

I see there's an fsx.gif specific base file: dc6_v20x.zip

Installed the fsx.gif version ... what a beauty! Handles well and not a bad VC either. Screenshot OTW ... and will be adding it to NZFSIM shortly ...

EDIT: Now added toNZFSIM ... here.

... and here she is ...

Well you guys have just made my day... just what I was looking for. And just as Creator 2003 said, "someone will point you in the right direction real soon." I must admit I wasn't expecting the paint job to turn up quite so quickly, but here it is already. Thanks to all you who've had a hand in tracking it down and putting it up for distribution, thanks Adamski . This forum is now one of my favourite bookmarks. BTW I once kicked the tyres on NZ3631, but I wasn't qualified at the time to pour the gas, hence my interest in the paint scheme. Never thought I'd have the opportunity of actually flying it someday, well its sister ship 3632 anyway. Thanks for the repaint Jens and Hamish... if you're still about.

Great to hear you like the DC-6. I'm totally in love with the Warbirds DC-3 (real and FS) so it's understandable that I'd like this one too. Must have been an awesome aircraft to see up close and personal.

I helped out for a while (back in the UK) with restoring an old Britannia ... that was quite something too. I'm just old enough to remember one flying - what a sound!!! I haven't been able to find a halfdecent Britannia for FSX.

mm yeah love the sound of a DC-6 ...anyone remember the moth spraying Canadian DC-6 they had in Auckland a few years back? It flew low over my house several times ..makes me want to put a syndicate togther and bring a RL back here and paint it in TEAL colours.

Adam,
JBK who produced this DC-6 also produced the Britannia about the same time. If you haven't seen it:

There is a new DC-6 incoming in the next couple of days from Just Flight , it dose not have the canoe ADF fairing as on the T.E.A.L or RNZAF aircraft but have the twin inline so it is close enough for most DC-6 drivers who no little of the type .
