Here is my first ever attempt at painting up a plane. It's the Wellington Aero Club Tomahawk that I went for a trial flight in the other week.

Very much a work in progress but fairly happy with it.

PAUL , Bloody Good on ya , excellent first piece of work, you have to admit you must be enjoying the other side rather just kick the tires - polish it as well .. a Superb first effort

Thank-you Ian. I did actually enjoy it, challenging but fun.

Before you know it I'll be doing sceneries (yeah right!)

You never no , first a paint , then its a Oh Dang , that needs a fix up and from there it just snowballs

Congratulations on your website and art work. Very nice. My dad was in the navy and was in the Korean war as a radar technician on the ships. He even got a letter from The Queen! I maybe interested in the Sunderland after Christmas. I remember watching these flying over my primary school. Had a very distinctive sound.

While I'm on the subject, do you or anybody know of a good Grumman G44 for FSX. I can't find one yet. I have many memories of flying to Great Barrier with my dad with Capt Fred Ladd which I would like to re-create. I have Joe Binkas version for 2004 I think but would like an updated version if possible with VC.

Ive done a few hours in WAC myself. I bought the Alabeo Tommy last night after I saw your post, it is fantastic. Any chance of uploading your repaint when youre done????Glenn

I have my parents coming down from Auckland to stay over Christmas so I'll see what info I can get. I know he has a photo or two of the ships he served in. May have to wait until Mid Feb 14 when I go up there for their 60th Wedding Anniversary to get my hands on them. If I can get him to bring some stuff down I will be able to scan them for you this trip.

Very nice work Paul! I'd love DMF of Marlborough Aero Club as that's the only aircraft I've flown in real life, so far. Did a trial flight while over in NZ two years ago and was able to take over the controls for a few minutes, an awesome experience.

I already have a DMF repaint for Just Flight's Tomahawk but the Alabeo one looks like much-have purchase!

ZK-DMF has a new scheme now which is the same as the Alabeo N663R, but I guess you flew it in her old colours. I think this is the tidiest Tommy in NZ.

I'd love to do a Subject and story then draw it, authenticated and signed by your Father, something that would return the memory of the early 1950's , I'd love to get up there and meet him for a day myself and talk.
