NZFF

Hey all. I got in on that el-cheapo deal on the CLS MD-81/2 model recently and am enjoying flying the thing. It's got a nicely detailed exterior, pretty good VC and a perfectly passable 2D cockpit.
Anyways, I thought I'd knock out a few local fictitious repaints, starting with a Pacific Wave Air NZ jobbie...



Am moving onto a more "period" Wings-of-the-nation style one next, maybe Ansett, and possibly a contemporary white/black fern sorta number. If anyone else has the CLS please let me know if you have a preference, or know of any other NZ themed CLS repaints (I've looked high and low and haven't found any)

Now that is one type , the ole Douglas DC-9 chassis that put its hand up in the ole days , last time i had a play with a similar type was a 2D cockpit only for FS200/2002 , the very shot 30 series but the freeware designer payed super attention to the externals , I have seen the C9 the military name variant on the ramp at Christchurch many years ago .... think it was there to get an ANZ paint

Nice one Dean , not sure it would turn me to buy a MD82 ... i did like the the short DC-9 off FS2002 but away's from that great piece of work

Cheers Ian.. she's a pretty snazzy piece of Douglas engineering I reckon.
Shame there's not a decent payware quality B717 huh?

Funny how the real large companies with the history get their socks knocked off .. Donald would be pleased with the scheme

One more for the CLS, this time the new black-fern look. Doesn't quite work on the MD80x coz of the tail mounted engines blocking the fern detail, but was a fun one to paint
(by the way: the CLS repaing kit is EXCELLENT to work with)
