Welcome on board Quin , You can always buy the Albeco AG C188 and paint it up in that scheme .. very little difference

Welcome to NZFF.

If you are using FSX, the closest version of the Pawnee 250 available is by Alabeo, available here as a Pawnee Brave:
http://secure.simmarket.com/alabeo-pa36-pa...75-fsxp3d.phtml

Additionally, repaint requests for that and other models usually go in this applicable thread:
http://nzff.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...0&start=600

If you are looking for someone to make that aircraft model and livery from scratch as a full addon, it's not that simple, and can often take months if not years to complete. I do not know of any developers currently working on additional Piper Pawnee models at this time.

If you are only looking for the livery for an existing model (like the Alabeo), that is much, much more likely, but it depends on a repainter's workload and interest, as repaint creation takes a good amount of time as well. I'm not sure that a single post simply requesting a Pawnee with no further context/background will go far in getting a request fulfilled.

Was'nt sure if it was the same that flew out Wigram early to mid 1990s , means i've been tugged eight times before the glider club moved out to Hororata.

I had a number of glider tows behind this though I prefered the Super Cub - a bit slower but also cheaper as well as having a more gentle acceleration at the start!

There's a freeware Pawnee out there already - In fact, there may be more than one... I'll just load up the one I found and compare it with what I've got already.

As for towing behind a Pawnee vs Cub, I never found much of a difference as far as time to alt. 180hp vs 235/250hp, bearing in mind that the Pawnee weighs more.
The only real advantages to the Cub were lower fuel and maintenance costs, and the fact that it was easier to use the top of the wing as a visual reference when teaching people the basics of the aero-tow.

Checked it out, it appears to be the same model - Originally for FS9... It's not flash in FSX, although if you were just using it to substitute the Maule as a tow plane.

I had a crack at a quick and dirty repaint representing CNG but I got the proportions wrong first time around. If you're patient I could have it done and dusted before the end of the week though.

I guess if ya really need a good Pawnee .. build a native FSX outside and if ya own 188 transfer the cockpit model idea.gif

it would be good as if you could do that. also if you know any links to some GOOD free pawnee's that would also be good... its a wee bit sad that cng is being taken out.. weve been useing a piper dakota and are soon getting a euro fox just because its cheaper to run the the classic pawnee is still the best for towing.. nothing beats the sound it makes and the amount of power in the climb

No problem mate. That is the only Pawnee I've found, and believe me I've been searching for a long time - I was hunting for one to do a repaint representing BZA, from the Matamata club.

By not flash, I mean the textures won't show in DX10 mode in FSX (this is a killer for me, because both of my systems turn FSX into a slideshow when running in DX9 mode) and there is a gaping hole where the lower half of the cockpit should be.

No doubt Ian or one of our pro repainters will point me in the right direction here...
Lastnight, I put together a quick hash up of the rego on an existing repaint, and I had the proportions and dimensions wrong - reg was too far forward on the fuse.

Tonight, I scrapped that one and started a fresh job using some reference points (rivets on a panel line) and saved it - same format as the original, same size and same orientation.
When I pull the model up in FSX, the textures are in the totally wrong places on the fuse... I've got trim stripes appearing on the top of the canopy, the cowling textures are on the fin/rudder.

I tried flipping/mirroring using DXTBMP in every combination I could think of, but the textures are still in the wrong places.
