Welcome back Chestnuts - Rolland Garros , smile.gif I mentioned his name whilst helping out with a tour party during a Wigram visit , this was regarding the deflector gear Mr Garros had on the prop of his Morane-Saulnier during WWI , mention of his name only thing these people connected the name with was Tennis rolleyes.gif Oh boy ! biggrin.gif

I did a little spot now four years ago but regard to the Louis and his 1909 efforts across the other Channel , intrepid type's they were .. try anything out ole Mister Garros did smile.gif

you're right Ian , ..... Garros never was a tennisman , he only smashes balls ( bullets) on a propeller to try to find how to protect it !
