Flying to Melbourne, and I noticed ANZ still flies a B767 to that destination!
SO I booked it (great that you can pick your aeroplane, thank you ANZ).

As these things happen, the same day an ANZ repaint appeared on flightsim so I installed it for a look.
It's on the venerable POSKY model (appropriately I guess, it's an old aeroplane), now tweaked finally to fly properly.

Is the repaint in fact correct in having black bits on fin and winglet? I haven't seen this in the flesh.

Anyway, who'da thunk the old tart could look so...21st Century, eh?

Nah none of the 767s have been painted yet, and I guess if they do they'll also have the new fern on the rear fuselage too.

Neat shots!
The paint is great, I hope it'll be around for the level d anytime soon. I've got two left hands when it comes to painting fs aircraft.

Well the paint will scarcely be dry:

I'm also not claiming Top Painter status, but I blacked out the wobbly leading edges on this bird!

I think the fern is an optional extra on the new livery...

Lets hope not , maybe that scheme is to adorn the aircraft after the 78 debut, ... the flip side with the debut the 76 would be on the very short list .. or why not return to the Air New Zealand Cargo hub idea , have it modified as a freighter ? .. they do make more moneys than a people mover.

Actually looks like all aircraft with have the fern, with some in black. Guess they didn't finish in time for the new A320, which is a bit silly as it will be up for a repaint very soon. The new livery would have looked much better at the Paris Air Show...

Phewy ..just as well .. the Fern with the white fuselage is a long overdue revamp and it would sure look great after new movies are released with the advert transfer on them .

The camera does not lie: if you bleach that Airbus a little, you see the uniforms are black, the sharklet is black, the tailfin is ...Teal Blue with a bucket of black ink dropped in!
Someone didn't think black was something they could commit to...

Love the comments under that photo, and one was valid: why use up all the symbols at once? Koru OR Fern, not both, for goodness sakes.
But the one I liked best of all:
"I like Red" mellow.gif I mean, he could have told us his Favourite Direction, perhaps.

Heh... give me my blue tail and you can have the tart back, then!

Actually I'm looking forward to flying it one last time - last trip on a 767 was a rattly old Qantas thing to Queensland.
I think it must've landed, dropped us off and gone straight to the breakers.

I am most jealous really, have a great flight. I was lucky enough to get a business class seat (economy service) on an ANZ 767-200 doing the CHCH-AKL run once upon a time, haven't so much as stepped on a 767 since then. sad.gif I too am keen on the blue tails!

I'm not a great fan of the black and white scheme. I know it is meant to be representative, but to who? The blue and teal colour was more representative of the pacific in general and could have been enhanced. There were some good experimental liveries floating around a few years ago (might even have been on this site too) that were great. The black will date very quickly and start to look quite shabby when it ages.
Different does not make it better.
