Joan was the aircraft flown by Lt Russel Fredenhall of the 507th FS/ 404th FG. He was hit by Flak on the 25th of June 1944, near Foret de Cinglais while flying at 200ft. His aircraft crashed and exploded and Lt Fredenhall was killed.

could be...we'll never know, but I thought it fitting to show the pilot who gave his life for the people in my part of the world as well.
