I'm sorely tempted to get the Virtavia Apaches in their current half price sale. Does anyone have them and if so what's your opinion? I know there isn't much system modelling in any Apache release currently, but I'm interested in knowing about the quality of the VC, exterior model, liveries and repaints, animations, soundset, any special features etc? I see Area 51 also do an Apache for a very good price. How does this compare to the Virtavia ones?

Cheers

Ade off all the warbirds , guess it was the ole 'Tomahawk' program of the AMSTRAD then the 'Apache Longbow' that spoiled me away from buying this .

I have the Virtavia Apache. Its good looking inside and out but like you say doesnt have much system modelling. I dont know about the Area51 Apache but the Virtavia one has both the British and American versions

i have the Virtavia one, works for me being an "outside" simmer, and as said already... not sure about the Area 51 model.

Thanks guys. I don't fly helos very much but have long wanted a good Apache! Sounds like this will do the job, at least until a developer like Nemeth or Milviz do one. Very tempted to get the A-4 Skyhawk and the Handley Page Hampden as well. Damn these half price sales! laugh.gif

Cheers.

The A4 would be a good choice , new style VC were as the Hampden is the very old school modelling .
