ZK-MUS Repaint Help

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby ardypilot » Wed Nov 09, 2011 3:09 pm

A friend has asked me to repaint ZK-MUS for the Flight 1 Citation Mustang which I've completed in photoshop in .psd format.

This was done using the official paint kit found here. I followed the included instructions to try and save it in .dds format, however, when splitting the image up into 7 textures files- each was slightly off from 1024x1024 pixels (eg 1024x1023, and 1024x1027 etc). This resulted in the repaint coming out like this and it looks like I've renamed each section wrong resulting in the avionics screens being on the engine and mirrored upside down fuselage images:

If anyone owns the Flight 1 Stang and is willing to give this another crack, I've uploaded my finished .psd paint kit (40mb) here and would really appreciate a professionals help smile.gif

Cheers!

Heck , $70NZ still and its quiet an old model , it looks impressive with all the workings , it would be the first Cessna , the central map display , is that an enlarged default GPS or remodeled ? .. as we have one in here and i saw it display at the 1998 Wanaka Show.... i may think about it .

haha love the repaint ...looks very modern art like..(sorry cant help with the repaint)

As I understand it the G1000 system in the flight 1 Cessna Mustang (and 182) is the best representation of it in FSX..its not a remodelled FSX GPS. I believe it actually works as the real thing.

The aircraft on display at Wanaka was a Cessna CJ-1 (the owner is distant relative of mine...too distant unfortunately!) which is quite a different beast to the Mustang which is a lot newer (and smaller) design

Cheers guys- figured out that if I imported some of the stock DDS textures into photoshop, I could just rotate the repaint to fit them. That worked out fine.

However, placing the ZK-MUS rego over the split between the tailfin and rudder is killing me- I just can't get it right. If anyone would like to finish the job... feel free smile.gif
