Think, it´s an interestiing aircraft, made in Poland from the sixties onwards and exported worldwide. All in all a slow and noisy aircraft... but this is like the german "Fieseler Storch" in WWII. You can land it at extreme short airstrips and has enough power to start also under extreme conditions. It was flown in the Soviet Union in Sibiria and in the hot klimate from the Ukraine in Sommer also.

Is there an example registered in NZ? Good aircraft to fly to smal airstrips and remote airfields of the South Island I think. If we can have a NZ-Repaint... wonderfull!

Sure there is a couple , during the 90s the NZ Police trialed one for observation over Auckland before opting for the Helicopter.

I think there's a picture on either airliners.net or jetphotos.net of one that was at Taupo.

There are currently four Wilgas on the NZ register although I'm not sure if they're all still active. NEV in Hamilton, PZL in Inglewood and PZM and PZN both in Auckland.

I like the first and the last with that Pseudo-Camouflage very much. The Wilga... as I was a child in East Germany, we have often seen them towing Glider. Well, the Wilga is a true aircraft for pilots in my eyes. It has not much "Schnickschnack" and is not very comfortable, but the big engine for such a smal aircraft and the chance to land at very short and narrow airstrips... this is pure fun. So I think, it is good for flying at the southern Island.

Im keen on this one..especially at the price quoted...will wait for feedback and maybe a NZ scheme..

It's a great little aircraft, you do have to fly it smile.gif

This is out of the manual, and is it so true the climb out of milford was to say te least "A lot of work" Expect to reach service ceiling (3960 meters) after 48 minutes
Code: Select all
 Standard climbs:
o 2050 rpm
o 30 kp/cm² manifold pressure
o 120 km/h
o Cylinder head temperature not over 240 °C
o Oil temperature not over 85 °C
85 °C is allowed for not more than 15 minutes, then reduce to 50-60 °C
o Oil pressure 4 - 6 kp/cm²
o Fuel pressure 0.2 - 0.5 kp/cm²
 Monitor engine instruments carefully
 When temperatures are too high open engine and/or oil radiators
 Expect to reach service ceiling (3960 meters) after 48 minutes
 Expect vertical speeds between 4,6 m/s at sea level and start power down to 3.8 m/s above 2000
meters

Hows the sound and FDE Pete?

Sounds are great Paul, and FDE is typical Aerosoft quality. You do have to be hands on all the way. If you think you are going to get airborne then let go to roll a smoke think again smile.gif
Fun plane to fly, don't expect to anywhere fast cause she wont.

Only flown it twice so a preliminary of 8.75/10 for looks, sound, FDE
