Bay Tower Studios RV7

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby AndrewJamez » Thu Jul 28, 2011 4:22 pm

At Last Bay Tower Studios RV7 is for sale. It has been released as a beta version (complete with out manuals) so it could be timed with Oshkosh. At $38 USD some may see it a little pricey but its one damn fine looking kitplane with speed to boot. A category that has seen few good FSX addons. The lancair from orbx springs to mind but you need a 10 mile runway to land that beast on!

Finally! after 5 long years. The guy that made this must have an iron clad will to get it finished after that long. Must say the price is slighlty disappointing after intial reports said it wil be around $25 but it looks fantastic. I will be patient and wait for feedback (especially FPS) and some NZ repaints if they come. I have a couple of other new (to me) planes to play with at the mo anyway.

I'll hold out for a bit, but I wouldn't mind picking this one up somewhere down the line...
I've had an hour in RVV, a '4 best known for it's colour scheme of Desert Pink - not all that surprising given it's owner at the time flew some hot ships in Gulf 1 ph34r.gif

Another hour in Case Groot's '6A out his private strip in Matamata last year (Image of Case's machine I found on the web)

I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with the user-friendliness of both machines, and their outright pace - RVV will do NZTG-NZWB in two hours winkyy.gif

Some guy has just posted a video slide show of his initial flight. Nothing we havnt seen already but interesting. I see from the user feedback that there is great attention to detail with this aircraft including an authenticaly modeled auto pilot and a canopy when not latched properly in flight, blows back form wind force. I have downloaded the flight1 wrapper and will buy it as my visa clears form last month. It has default cessna sound but you can buy sonic solutions soundpack that they have done for Vertigo Studios RV8 for pretty cheap. Sound set and plane is gonna cost around $60 NZD so its pretty darn expensive. It better be worth it for that money

Just released news from Bay tower developer:

"I have good news ...

Sonic Solutions has agreed to provide BayTower with a soundset to include in the final release of your RV7.
This soundest will be adapted from Sonic Solutions’s original recordings used in their RV8 sound pack.

If you’re already familiar with Sonic Solutions you may already know Vance.
He’s a game industry sound department veteran - formerly of BioWare(EA).
But the coolest thing, at least for me , is Vance has left life in the big city and moved to the Annapolis Valley.
That’s where I grew up - and often think about going back.

I've been using the RV8 sound pack. And good add-on sound really adds a lot to the experience.
For the time being Sonic Solutions new sounds won't be available until they are finished.
So stay tuned for any new developments.

Danny
"

All so check this video out, its the best RV flick ive seen to date, and when you see 2 airforce guys climb in with parachutes straped on you know they are not there to dick around.
