Gidday from Canada everyone,

I'll be back in NZ soon and are giving myself a wee birthday present - I am going to buy one payware aircaft. But what should I get?

Edit: For FSX

I already have:

- Carenado series (except for the 185 bush - which I would consider)
- FeelThere Grand Caravan
- LevelD 767-300

So looking to make might (small) collection a wee bit larger...

Maybe a decent 737 (that has to have the possibilty of get some ANZ markings)? Flight1 ATR? What e;se do you reccommend?

I will consider a whiole range of types of aircraft - just no military

Thanks,
Scotty

Great list SeanTK! Much appreciated. Sorry, I have now edited the OP, but I am using FSX.

Fell in love with the Norman Islander, turbine Duke and Bell 212. Arrgh, all three! Gimme gimme gimme!!

You also indicated that you have the "Carenado series" but you are still using the Feelthere Caravan?

The Carenado C208 Grand Caravan is much better! I would strongly recommend that if you don't have it!
http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php

You could also wait a little while for Carenado to release their upcoming Cessna 337!

If you want a decent 737 wait for the PMDG 737NGX or Captainsim 737-100/200.

The turbine Duke - a very sophisticated twin.

Depends on if you want GA Light or Heavy Metal or rottary wing:

AS Twin Otter or BeaverX are both good fun aircraft but a bit basic.
Lionheart's Quest Kodak is well modeled
Flight 1 PC-12 is great as is the BN-2 Islander
Just Flights Flying club is good value getting about 5 models for less than the cost of some single models

Between that and the heavies
Just Flight DC-3 is nice
ATR is a bit dated but still well modeled
Majestic's DHC - 8 is very detailed but also a bit dated.

Then
PMDG 747 need I say more?
or Captain Sims offerings 707, 727, 757, 767. Very detailed, heavy on the frame rates, some issues with flight dynamics occationally.

Cheer Paul

Scotty, you've got pretty much every payware aircraft available suggested now tongue.gif
If it was me choosing a single purchase between GA and a heavy I'd go for either...
* GA - Ants Airplanes Tecnam Sierra : great price, excellent feel and model, good fun for low-n-slow
* Heavy - QualityWings 757 : slightly cheaper and less complex than the CS, but lovely to hand fly, great to look at, and a good price

Re the 737, if you want real-life NZ models/liveries with decent panels then the only 737-300 option is the Wilco/PIC. Its pretty good considering its age, but you'll want a decent rig coz its a bit CPU hungry. If I didnt have the Wilco I'd probably be holding off to see how the PMDG pricing ends up on the NG, or would go for the iFly NG now which looks really nice too (I think Alister has it)

Just seen an email from Loinheart that they are having a sale until Sunday. If you are after the Kodak $12.95USD with todays exchange rate that's bugger all! I'd recommend this one to anyone at this price - I think I paid about $25 USD for it.
