Carenado C152 Repaints

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Still practicing and getting the hang of doing plane repaints - this is only my second attempt at doing one so I went with something pretty simple. Still need to make a few small touch-ups, the rego needs to come down a tad etc. If anyone would like a copy let me know and I'll upload it to Avsim or a similar site.

And here is a little preview of what I've been working on tonight, I actually started this before ZK-CXK but stopped working on it till I could get a good look around the actual plane and note all the exterior markings (finally remembered too this week! Amount of times I walked past it and forgot to look). If anyone is interested in this let me know and I'll put it on Avsim when its complete.

EDIT: Should mention that this SBK repaint is for the C172 (real plane being a C172P), not a 152 repaint tongue.gif

If anyone has any requests for C152 repaints let me know, and I'll give them a go as long as they are a NZ-based aircraft

They look excellent...there will always be a need for NZ Carenado repaints..especially for the 172 which I dont believe any exist..do you have any mirror image problems with any of these?..and welcome to to NZFF!

Definitely put it up at AVSIM, it's a handsome 152 you've picked, too.

Thank you for your comments!

There are a few mirror issues which are a bit disappointing. On SBK, just above the rego is the words "Canterbury Aero Club", unfortunately I cannot put this on my model because on the mirrored side its all backwards. Also there is a "Axe Inside. First Aid Kid Inside" sticker on the side of the plane which I had to blur until it was unreadable so it looked alright on the mirrored side, which is a shame because I love zooming up close and being able to read small details like that.

Didn't have many issues with mirroring on the CXK because it is a pretty simple and symmetric design. The only problem I have is part of the rego appears on the mirrored side, so I have to bring it down a tad so that the patched area on the mirrored side covers it.

Thank you! I was just looking at photos of the real life CXK and noticed it doesn't have a propeller nose cone.... don't think I'll be able to change my to replicate it unfortunately.

Will work on fixing that little rego issue then upload to Avsim tonight when i get home smile.gif

Sorry about the late reply, I've been pretty busy recently and haven't had a chance up until now to work on these. I haven't finished ZK-SBK yet, ZK-CXK I have completed - however I wasn't happy with the quality of small markings on it with a 1024x1024 texture, so I've decided from now to use 2048-sized textures.

I've been working on these the last couple of days, I should hopefully have them finished by end of the weekend smile.gif

ZK-DCO

ZK-EIP (and ZK-EQP)
