So, I've made some progress with my repaint of Al Deere's "Kiwi 1"....

Ready to start her up...

Off we go for a quick jaunt out offshore

I can see my house from here! (Actually, I really can!)

Anyone want to beta test the repaint? PM me...

Looks great!

I particulary love the reflections on the wing top and self-shadowing on pic #4.
I must admit that FSX does have some advantages...

Do you mind some nitpicking?
I think the squadron code letters needed a tad more "boldiness":

Agree - good find on those photos Markus!

Ian, I've been working mostly off the assumption that Brendon Deere's information in "Return to Flight" is accurate - there are a couple of photos of Kiwi 1 in there which show the starboard side sans Kiwi...of course, that could have been taken before he applied the Kiwi on either side! smile.gif

It's bloody hard trying to find out exactly what the aircraft of the day actually looked like at any given point, so basically gone with the approach that these photos are accurate, and correctly labelled....

Thanks also to both of you for the feedback on the lettering - I'll look at getting that sorted out then we should be good to go.. smile.gif

I have a photo here of KIWI II with Al showing the logo on the starboard side , Serial P9390, was wreaked 7 July 1940 in a force landing .
