Dear folks,

I know there's still a controversy about 2D panels and/or VC.
And although Carenado's VC rendition of the C185 panel is really awesome, I'm pretty confident there are still lots of users preferring a decent 2D panel.
So I have created a 2D panel (16:10 widescreen ratio, optimized for 1680x1050 screen resolution) by using a screenshot of the C185's VC as background bitmap and adding the parameters of Carenado's original gauges. VC and popups remained unaltered. Screenshot of the VC panel used and edited with permission from Carenado.

Upload to AVSIM and Flightsim.com is done.

Enjoy!

(Don't mind the "Lukla cliff" at NZMC here - NZ Topo should arrive soon!)

Cheers,
Markus.

I do believe you are the first to get a "Factory-approved" Carenado retrofit out there!
10/10 mate, and I hope the postie doesn't dally with your topo package...

EDIT: Loaded it up, and it looks great on my widescreen monitor.
Zooming back in the VC, I of course get the same view you got for the screenshot on which the 2D is based.
But I never found the need to come out of VC view to 2D!
So what drives your preference for 2D?
I prefer to fly airliners from 2D because there's a lot of dial twiddling, but never found the need for GA.
I generally load a minipanel for GA taildraggers for taxiing, but that's about it.
