Where exactly do I get new aircraft?

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby jordNZ » Mon Jan 03, 2011 3:59 pm

Call me stupid, but I don't really know where to get new aircraft for FlightSim X. I want some Air New Zealand planes; managed to get repaints but then realized that I need the aircraft before I get the repaints, and now I'm just confused as to how it all works, haha.

If anybody can help and maybe link me some Air New Zealand planes (preferably smaller prop aircraft) I would be very grateful.

Cheers,
Jordan.

Here you can find some kiwi paints for default aircraft, including GA.

Haha Ian, will take your advice winkyy.gif

Cheers guys, I will have a dig around. I'm now more knowledgeable on the PMDG aircraft that people talk about. I went to their website and read up on it; seems the system requirements differ from that of flight sim? Does that mean I may experience worst performance when flying an aircraft from PMDG? I'm guessing this may be because of the added CPU load when calculating more individual components in the cockpit (the realism enhancements)?

Also, I REALLY want to find this aircraft - http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/seat-map-beechcraft-1900d
Air New Zealand livery as well if possible. I found the PMDG model of the plane but it said it was for 'FS9' not FSX. Which I didn't even know FS9 existed (assumed it was FS2004 then FSX, haha).

Hey Jordan. Yes the B19D from PMDG works fine in FSX. You do have to make a coupe of tweaks tho but PMDG have a guide following to tell you how to do that...

A bunch of us over at Virtual Air New Zealand use this machine under FSX all the time, its a beauty even tho its getting on a bit now. Following is a couple of threads at vANZ you may be interested in

FS9 and FS2004 are just different names for the same version of the simulator smile.gif
