Would anyone be interested in a repaint of Pilot Officer HWB Patterson's Spitfire IX "Baby Bea V" in its D-Day livery?

This is a first draft - some details need a little attention. I can do it in 1024x1024 and 2048x2048 resolutions. If anyone has any good pictures of the aircraft, I would be grateful to get a copy.

Gidday I'm positive everyone here that has the Realair Spit would be extremeely keen for the repaint into 485 wing scheme !!,..shes lookin really nice so far bud i'll see what I can do to help and i'm sure Mr Ian Warren our resident aviation historian will have some stuff to help possibly as well. My old man SQDLDR Ian Brausch had something to do with re-establishing 485 wing out at RNZAF Base Whenuapai so will ask him as well. I have attached a link you may be interested in..

Yes very keen but there is already one:

Category: Flight Simulator X - Aircraft Repaints, Textures and Modifications
Spitfire Mk IX MK732 circa 1994 as " Baby Bea V "

File Description:
Depicted is MK732 OU-U circa 1994 after being restored , which is still in flying condition today as 3W-17 . This repaint is intended for FS X ( also works in FS 9 - but as a Mk XIV ) . A thumbnail of MK732 is included as are instructions for installation .

Thanks Naki - I did a search, but didn't find that one!

Thank you for saving me from re-inventing the wheel.

Please...I too would be keen on seeing other 485 Spits being modelled. An Illustrated History of the New Zealand Spitfire Squadron by Kevin W. Wells (Hutchinson New Zealand 1984) is a good reference. My whole resurgence into flight simulators was brought on after watching James May's Toy Stories on telly; the episode where the kids make a 1:1 scale Spitfire. What really got me was the ride in the two seater spitfire (OU*V) and boy, did I wish that was me. Funny thing is, I still haven't got a spit yet after almost half a year back into it!

Thanks for that Ian. It sure looks slick doesn't it. Mind you I am rather partial to the Mark V and IX variants. Cool to have those 20mm strapped to the wings. Cheers Bruce

Bruce , guess the Realair Spitfire is your choice and for FSX gives you 6 variants and marks , clip wing cannon jobbies , early tail MkIXs to MkIVX s , a brilliant package . cool.gif
