Heya all I have put together two new soundpacks for the FSX Realair Spitfires . One is for the Merlin Engined Spit and the other is for the Mighty Griffon engined spit. Really happy with the Griffon soundpack especially !. For the Merlin wait 1m 08sec for the startup soundfile to run through to get the most out of the soundpack and 20secs for the Griffon engine as they will spit, fart, pop then even out to that lurvly v-12 idle. All new Ext and Int sound files taken from high def Griffon and Merlin engine runup videos found on the WWW. Get em here on my MSN Skydrive...

Griffon Soundpack 20.7mb

Merlin Soundpack 34.6mb

In the folders " RealAir Spitfire IX 2007 " and " RealAir Spitfire XIV 2007 " rename the original soundfolders to " soundorig" then drop the sound folder from my Griffon soundpack into the RealAir Spitfire XIV 2007 folder, and the sound folder from my merlin soundpack into the RealAir Spitfire IX 2007 folder. If you have renamed the original sound folders as said then all you have to do is start up FS and take em for a spin. **** MAKE BACKUPS OF THE ORIGINAL REALAIR SOUND FOLDERS FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING MY REPLACEMENTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ******

Brilliant , its amazing how different the aircraft type effects the sound , even the size off the blades and the different version off Merlin , the Griffon , now that was one powerful beast and in 1995 VE really show how powerful it really was , Thank Adrian cool.gif

Excellent, just what the doctor ordered. The real air spit always did sound like a 1/4 scale v12 - a little to high pitched for my liking. This will go down a treat. Cheers!

Just for fun, I dropped the startup .wav into the FS9 Realair Spit, and by gum, it did all of those things!
The FSX soundsets are not all that different, actually, so with a little selection this could turn into a lot of fun!
Many thanks...

EDIT: What happened to \RASSpit_xrpm3.wav ?

lol there is no Rasspit_xrpm3.wav or interior rasspit_rpm.wav even in the original soundpack (unless I accidentally deleted both..unlikely though blink.gif )

It's going to take you a while to dig through a decade's worth of forum posts... :o

Unfortunately the links are broken or files missing. Hopefully an NZFFer has the Griffon file stashed on a hard drive somewhere and takes pity on me!
