Glad to see you having fun with the GDR "144" repaint I did.
Seems like Vit's Albatros is about to become one of the most repainted aircraft - just take a look at this huge thread here:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/show...2352&page=1
Charl just sent me an interesting suggestion on this Kiwi-based L-39 here:
http://www.aeroplane-pictures.net/registration.php?p=ZK-WLM
He also mentioned that the photographer of two of these thrilling shots, Gavin Conroy, is a member here.
Gavin?
Do you have any useful closeups, especially on the "skull&bones" tailfin?
I'd love to roll this beauty into my paint hut once again...
Cheers,
Markus.
Didn't realize you did the paint on GDR 144 - looks great
I may have a couple suggestions on a paint job as well
I soooooooo have to learn to do my own repaints.
This Slovak MiG-29 scheme here would make a neat inspiration: http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...1174341ad6b3d97

Much too nicer plane to have spare seats in it
The Blue one is not going anywhere in that photo though....high speed taxi tests...note the covered pitot tube.

Not sure , hi speed taxi or not , covering the pitot tube ? not a bright idea or is this now standard , ... in any machinery i ve operated , you make sure all sensors are on , but in saying that - the work place i,m in advocates work safety only to find many Russian s working in the place and witnessed covering sensors simply to prove a high production level .

Huh!![]()
Not the easiest paint to start with. Placing those tiny squares should become a painter's nightmare...
@ Fauville:
This one looks quite nice - but IIRC, there are some very well done "authentic" russian paints already released. Didn't SteveB over at SOH did them?
I could use a little help on ZK-WLM. This is what I did up to now:
Although I tried hard, I didn't manage to grab a pic showing the upper wing/upper fuselage camo pattern - so this is currently sheer guesswork. It would be great if anyone could help me out with useful references on these areas.
I know that "BananaBob" once did a repaint on ZK-WLM with this pattern for the Lotus L-39, but it seems unavailable now. Any owners of this repaint here to help me out with a screenshot?
Thanks in advance,
Markus.
