NZ Repaints Directory (NZFSIM)

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Adamski » Fri Mar 19, 2010 11:02 pm

I see we're attracting lots of interest for NZ-related repaints thumbup1.gif - not only local NZFF'ers but also from talented painters from "abroad". This is just *brilliant* but it's made my job of trying to keep track of them all much harder than it used to be winkyy.gif. These [much appreciated] repaints are scattered all over the forums.

So ... a polite request:

To keep an up-to-date record of all NZ-related repaints (FS9 or FSX) would all repainters please PM me with details of any skins they have completed and wish to add to NZFSIM? Similarly, if anyone updates existing files, then please PM me to keep the database current!

The more we have on the system, the better! There are so many awesome repaints available and it'd be great to be able to find them all easily.

For the record - in 99% of cases, the files are hosted elsewhere and I post an easy way of finding them (no direct linking). However, I can host files on the site as well if people want/need to.

For repaints that are on the system, I've created a gif file for posting - eg: Chris Brisland's Catalina repaint could have something like this (click to follow the link):

UPDATE: I've added a basic repaint_info.txt file that repainters can use to fill in all the info and then PM back to me. It may help keep this topic uncluttered and it'd certainly help me entering the data! winkyy.gif

Thanks to all that have already submitted New_Zealand_etc.gif

=========================
If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about laugh.gif please follow the NFSIM link (below) to see what I'm trying to do!

Thanks for all those Ian - I'll get cracking!

Yep best place for the files, I reckon - and their search page works well. I just thought a site (with links for only) for all NZ stuff in one place may be handy (for some!).

I use it myself when I'm thinking of buying a cheap add-on (from Flight Sim deal of the day, usually) ... to see what NZ repaints are available for that model of aircraft. I've got so used to *only* flying NZ aircraft that I feel weird/disloyal flying anything else!

The new Islander from Flight 1 has three NZ schemes. Two Great Barrier schmes and a Milford Sound Sight Seeing

The PMDG Jetstream 41 has an Origin Pacific scheme as default

Theres also a Air NZ FSX Level D 767 scheme - bit not sure where you get this?

Also one correction the Aerosoft Catalina dosent work in FS9.

Thanks for those - I'll update :-)

Trying to locate the LevelD one (is it one of the default Level-D liveries?) ... there's an iFDG one though.

If you want to do a quick check to see your paints on there, try this search.

Looking at your site, there are still a few I haven't got. Either they don't have download links or there's just a filename.

Hey Adam just a small correction - the Islander is twin piston powered not turboprop (the models that you reference anyway as there is a turboprop version). smile.gif

Well spotted, Batman! I must admit, my new Flight1 Islander I flew yesterday certainly didn't sound like a turboprop!
