I thought you guys would like one of these...
Still very much wip, mind you!

It's for the upcoming A320 by Aerosoft. If you spot any mistakes, please tell me!

In the second picture the flag is backwards. It should be facing the way it would be if it were being blown on a flag pole.

Also, unless they have changed the livery along with the removal of the 'wave', the tail (and wingtip) is more teal to blue.

Otherwise looking good!

Wow!!!!! Great pics ... from both of you! The A320 is one of my current favourites. I have to "fly" it a lot at the moment as it's my current aircraft on VANZ. 350 out of 400 hours before I transfer to a B767.

I bought the Wilco A320, which is pretty good - but has frequent CTD's for no apparent reason - even after applying all the "known fixes".

When's the Aerosoft one due?

... oh ... and Jan ... please don't make your repaint *too* shiny!!! I had to tweak the alpha on some of the RW ones winkyy.gif

Jan - I think it needs to be a little more exaggerated, still. Just running my colour spotter over the images in Firefox (not very scientific, but gives you an idea!) I get:

Photo: 16,34,70 (navy) - 24,116,139 (teal)
Repaint: 28,66,111 (navy) - 30,88,128 (teal)

ie. In the photo, the navy appears darker and the teal a bit more green. Of course, the lighting on the screenshot as you took it could have had quite an effect.

That "teal" colour is quite commonly used in NZ, so we're quite familiar with how it looks. You may even be able to find some AIrNZ corporate identity info that gives you the precise RGB or CMYK values for both colours.

I have a single colour version of the logo and it has the navy colour as 0,56,118 - can't find the teal colour though sad.gif

I lifted the blue off an official ANZ image, so I am assuming that I've got that one right. That it looks different may be due to the lighting in the sim, or the dirt on the textures, I'm not sure..
The teal is different, I don't know the color (living on the other side of the world) and I'm colorblind too, so I'm a bit at a disadvantage here.
I looked up the RGB, and I've found it listed as 0,128,128, so that's what I've tried here. However, the tail teal blurs into the navy here, so that may look different. The wingtips are completely teal, but feel too light to me.
Any comments?

Funny, Air New Zealand started life as TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways Limited, did a PBY for that).....

Jan - you amaze me! All those stunning repaints and you say you're *colour blind*??? I can't believe it! You must mean *relatively* laugh.gif winkyy.gif

That last pic looks pretty good to me. I googled around for the teal colour but only found a consistent value for the navy. The "teal" colour seemed to vary a lot.

I think the use of the colour was (purposely) inherited from the airline TEAL, so maybe it uses the old corporate colour - but it could have been tweaked.

I'll be keen to buy the AS A320 smile.gif

Looking at Jan's paint , learning i,m liking AeroSoft very much , and especially your Catalina , i might just have to buy this A320 myself and see what all the rave about them is ... you may remember my first flight on one off these it broke down .

Jan i guess you will be covering the 'Jetstar ' as well ? smile.gif

That last one is great, but the wingtips are too light like you said. Just a bit darker.
So do you get a free copy for doing these repaints?

Here's my latest attempt, I now picked the color for the wingtips from the tail, and they look the same to me...but are they OK for you?

As for colorblindness, check this page: http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/Ishihara.asp
I only really see the 25, and I can just make out the 56, so I think I can call myself colorblind.
Simply put, I see very little red, so this gives problems with green-brown distinction, blue-purple, etc
Technically put, I suffer from protanopia, mixed with protanomaly and deuteranomaly (green is a problem too..).
Well, suffering is not the right word really, it's just that the rest of the world sees things differently.
There are advantages too, I have excellent night vision, and am very good in pattern recognition.

Jetstar has already been painted by another painter, I tried, but couldn't get the color right...now you know why

as for buying the Airbus, you'll have to be patient, it's not out yet. End of the month I believe, but you can never be sure.

Aerosoft usually gives you a free download if you publish five repaints on their site, so I should be right:

etc..

Yes that's it!

Well done smile.gif

Edit: Can't tell if you have but they have the last letter of the registration above the cockpit window in the center:

As you say, the wingtip probably caught full light in that pic - so I imagine it's fine. The tailfin looks *much* better!

Ugh! This puts the quality of your repaints in yet another dimension. What can I say? I think all of us here at NZFF must now feel extra privileged for those amazing NZ repaints of yours. If there were to be an Oscar for FS repaints, surely you'd get it! laugh.gif

Can't wait ... worth it just to see your paints in action! I think they got you too cheap. *FIVE* repaints? Think of a reasonable hourly rate, then add up your hours for 5 aircraft. Daylight robbery/slave labour!!
