Some pics of the FW-190 with correct tail markings on it. I have read some negative stuff about this add-on on some sites, but after a bit of installation twaeking, it is a very good aircraft, and worthy of the award it got from Avsim! thumbup1.gif

Looks quite nice, will; have to sort a repaint once Murray Miers' Flug Werk reproduction arrives at Omaka!

Late variants - is a Dora included?

I have the early variants package, and I'm pretty happy with it - the VC in particular is very good.

Negative... Just the late A's

I'd call it an average model, certainly not bottom shelf though - but I've been spoiled by years with the WoP 190 A-D's

I rate it above average, however I haven't got the WoP version to compare it to. I do have the WoP 2 P-51/P-47/BF-109E, and if they are of a comparable standard then I would say that they are definately as good for flight modelling although they are a bit dated graphics-wise. That is including the patch to update them to native FSX. That said, the CH FW190 variants have pretty average external paint jobs...for now!

True enough smile.gif

I did find the CH ones feel a bit "dead" and quite tame compared to the WoP model... Probably not a bad thing for MP though.

WoP/A2A have stated that they will do a "WoP3" FSX native 190 in the future which I'm hanging out for drool.gif

If I look at some of your pics, especially #1 and #6, the textures look far too blurry. This could be a mipmap problem.
If you open them in DXTbmp, check if the mipmaps are ON (v in box on the right side of the screen). You need to save them with mipmaps OFF, and they will look much better.
I know the early versions had this problem too.
Last pic looks sharp though, so it may be a problem of just a few textures.

Cool, thanks for that! I will have a look at it a bit later on. I had enough trouble with the installer for this as it wouldn't let me alter the directory to install into (I run FSX off a different drivve to my OS). Still learning... smile.gif

OK, so it was definately a mips problem with the paintjob. Sort of fixed, but still pretty buggy. Not a fan of the amount of work to get this add-on working properly, and I still don't think the cockpit resolution is as good as it should be, even though I have it on high setting. A couple more screens to show what I am getting out for prospective buyers...

Over the SUPERCITY!

Damn, just missed out on Warbirds over Wanaka! censored2.gif

Hey Scrub's , it would be interesting to compare this 190 to the P47 , i don,t have it yet but would also make for some superb screens mixing and a matching in multiplay. cool.gif

Yeah, sounds good mate. I'm having some technical difficulties with multiplayer at the moment, I suspect I stuffed up something when I was playing around with setting up my audio in teamspeak. The 190 seems to have reasonably accurate FM, but I've never flown the real thing, so not really qualified to comment! wink.gif Let me know when you get it, I have the old WOP2 version, but I've blown the budget with a few hangar aquisitions icon_redface.gif so the Accusim P-47 is off the cards for now. Pity Accusim doesn't extend to weapon ballistics, a showdown with a couple of b-17s would be interesting! smiliz2.png

Currently trying to work out how to fly my new VRS F/A-18 Bug.... surrender.gif

Hey everyone, and sorry for digging out this old thread again.
Please note that the Fw190 uses 2048x2048 pixel textures, hence it requires a little edit to the FSX.cfg as described in depth in the handbook.
There is really no need to strip the mips off the textures. These are a feature not a bug.
So if you think the textures look "average" or blurry first check the handbook and make sure your FSX.cfg is adjusted accordingly.

Hey Ian, howzit? Hope your sim gear survived natures own force feedback! If you have the late variants then you will want this link http://www.simviation.com/simviation/index...=68&page=22 , it will give you the correct tail markings winkyy.gif

Thanks for the welcome, guys!

The historically correct tail markings for both the early and late variants can be found at http://www.italianwings.it/ btw.

Oh, since you asked, jamessx, here's some unedited cockpit shots, showing some similar angles for each the A-2, A-5 and A-9.
