I wish to buy PMDG 747 FSX and PIC 737 X are there any FS stores in NZ? Otherwise I can order from PC Aviator I guess.

I dont want to download as both of these titles have hardcopy manuals

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I do recall a store in the North Island, but cannot recall the name

Regards

Tony

Yes there is. It's called Downunderpilotshop, somewhere around Napier.

There's also VRConcepts, but neither stores have much in the way of addons.

This is asked now and again. Once a NZ distributor brings an addon into the country, pays freight, then marks it up and sells it themselves or to a retailer, who will mark it up themselves and add GST, it becomes a lot dearer than buying it directly from overseas.

Lately, I've been using the "download only" option for add-ons - particularly from CaptainSim and Wilco.

I've always liked to have printed manuals in the past, but these are pretty rare these days. I'm originally from a graphics/print background, so I know just how expensive it is to produce [printed] manuals for such limited volume sales. Then they go out of date quickly (as the software is tweaked/modified).

That said, I've often bought books from overseas and delivery to NZ has sometimes been faster than our local post (!) and not ludicrously expensive.

So ... if you're prepared to wait a few days ... I'd order from an overseas supplier.

I like printed manuals too, and even when you think you know how to fly something you always pick up something new if you just pick up the manual and randomly browse through it, but I have yet to find a printed manual that lets me find how to deal with an error message or caution light faster than I can find it by searching a pdf.
