BOEINGS C17 Globemaster III

Well a long plus years release and its still not finished

Jeepers .. a test flight requires test colours

At $81NZ , quite steep for this model so far , so it will be interesting to see what the VC has to offer ! , the update of course will be free

Alphasim certainly know how to model an aircraft beautifully Ian, but how does it fly? Fantastic looking model.

Alister , bit more time chucking it arourd and get the , well the display view s , ive seen this thing display many times now , you may have seen them arrive back from the ice or even this time last years little display over Christchurch , it is really is has a display quality for such a large aircraft , you can even back her up and put it away at night smile.gif

Ben , it s simply using a default 2d panel this moment , going to have play with this over Avalon were ive seen it display there many times .

Typical of Alphasim , they also cater for the fs9.gif S cool.gif

Looks wicked Ian,

So at the moment you don't have a VC??
Also that price is quite expensive...

New powered up pc , had to check this thing in FS9 , best of both is what they do at Alphasim , their models everything the same as the X model thumbup1.gif

I guess its a little quirky .. but this thing has more power that a Garlic Steak ! and not a Garlic Sausage , jezzz its slippery

Maybe i,m simply just waisting fuel rolleyes.gif

Time to Hanger this till me avionic.s guys give me some real controls cool.gif

Don't forget it's designed to carry payloads everywhere laugh.gif Looks stunning in FS9 - as I expected it would look (less shiny)

Now this is a happy update ohmy.gif

C-17 Globematster

I was wondering how much further along with the VC for the C17 , previous message i sent last year , you plotted around March 2011 – with that pasted you obviously cant be to far away from finish

Cheers Ian

The C-17 is getting close to completion now, the overhead, ctr console, HUDs and AP/radios block are all completed and working in FS9. There’s just the remaining gauges on the main panel to finish, the xml for them is done so all that’s needed are the 3D surrounds and knobs. A few small additions to the rear of the cockpit (fuse panels) and full conversion to FSX and that will be that. I can’t promise a date as extensive testing will be needed to be sure it’s OK for the public, but there’s a good chance that late April/early May will see it released.

Well, maybe just a free download of .mdl file and VC textures?
Wouldn't be any good to anyone who doesn't have the plane.

How can you not surpass the support effort here

You can get most of the old AlphaSim range still as Virtavia products at
http://www.theflightsimstore.com and other FS online retailers. I have not had time
yet to populate the Virtavia site with all the ex-AS stock, the links would
just send you to a 3rd party site anyway, so there's no real pressure to do
it yet.

I recognise your name of old, so there is no need to provide any records,
just let me know which models you bought and I can send links to them. When
the C-17 is released by Virtavia, it will be in the form of a full package
with copy protection, so not an update to the AlphaSim one. It will of
course be free to anyone who bought the AS one in 08/09.

Regards,

Phil

Whew a life of clean honest living brings its rewards, eh?
I hope they "recognise my name of old", too!

Anyway, I am delighted that our faith has been vindicated.
There are many who thought that was eighty dollars down the drain.
I like to think we helped in a small way to fund this result.
Thanks for being the conduit, matey.

I emailed Virtavia about the upgrade so we'll see...
Man, we got royally screwed with the exchange rate: 2 years ago it was what? NZD80
Now, FS9 is 55 Kiwi, 65 for FSX .
Grrr.
