I am keen to get the above aircraft but see they continue only to be available in FS 2004.How 'antiquated' would these be after using the ATR 500 in FSX?

I had the original PMDG B1900D that had a few patches to make it work in FSX. It's pretty good - but showing its age a bit now, considering the quality of recent FSX-only aircraft.

Hey Hoki. As Adamski mentions it is possible to run the B1900D in FSX (see this FAQ) and sure it may not look quite as sexy as some modern payware, but you'll find its a fun a/c to fly, and at a good price. I'd reccomend it thumbup1.gif

The PMDG B1900 was my stock aircraft for *many* a long flight when I first started with VANZ, so I grew to love it winkyy.gif I've since been upgraded to an ATR, which I've always loved. I have the Flight1 ATR - also a transmogrified FS9->FSX aircraft - but it's pretty good!

By the way, I'd recommend VANZ- You certainly get to know your aircraft winkyy.gif

As said ther is a patch for fsx 1900 though a little bit of skill will be taken to import fs2004 aircraft to fsx ,first get a payware tool called texture doctor this will convert dx1 textures to dds for the default fsx textures for ya ,great help,
next will be opening a panel cfg with note pad and changing lines in it[ VC part ] for FSX gauges as they are frame friendly ,,next would be photoshop and making those rotor or prop textures right by playing with the alpha channels etc ..
most animations will autro work in fsx but if they dont well to bad they dont work ..
if you have a aircraft with cold start well to bad is wont work to a simmers standed ..

playing with addons are cool and making them work is even better in FSX ,though it doesnt always work well so bear that in mind before you expecting something that just wont work ,,
fs2004 to FSX "{maybe } FSX to FS2004 dont try unless you know heaps about it all as it can be done im just not telling how ...bla

anyway another saying i have ,if there is some will there is a way ..

I would only be interested in running it on FS 2004 as I have no computer skills other than load and play. However having said that getting the better of the ATR72-500 startup problems has been a valuable education given that all questions to the publishers just get referred to their forum pages. To be more specific re FX 2004: is it 'model like' and significantly inferior to FSX.I watched a few examples from You Tube and it was hard to judge as they were mostly exterior shots. Many thanks for your input thus far.Ian.
