The Avro Lancaster , If some people missed the news , our Sir Peter Jackson is making a movie .... that involves a Legendary four engined Bomber .

This is also a test , for FS9 , for people asking to see how the GIGABYTE GTX260 896MB GDDR3 would preform . The G/card is fantastic for FS9 and will work
for FSX very well without huge scenery add-on . I now MAXED the sliders

Real World Weather updates every 15 minutes

You may ask why the Aeroplane Heaven Lancaster ,...For the people who buy many products, you will no this is a frame rate hitter, (not for me) she is superb !

Reason for the frame rate hit is , the designer wanted to cover all points and areas in this amazing model .

For you Adrian , my best testament for a graphics card .

Nice pics Ian !!
Especially like the first 3,....... AJ-G,........ "G" for George, 617 squadron, Guy Gibson's aircraft,.......... a REAL Dam Buster !
Heavily modified underbelly to carry Barnes Wallis's "Bouncing Bomb", and the more powerful Merlin 24s on the wings.........

Surprised you didnt take a screenie of it crossing a lake at night on its bombing run up to the Mohene Dam............

Ian, You are really really funny!

P.S this is a bit OT but that E-mail you sent didn't have anything in it. Is it meant to be like that?

Im sure it'll be pretty smack bang on the original film, Peter Jacksons a bit of a freak when it comes to authenticity (and rightfully so!).

Ian.
Many thanks for the shots. What FPS were you getting. At present I am flying online in the CSL DC10 day not much weather and getting 2 to 8 FPS. So any improvement will be great.

Sorry to drag up an old thread here lads, but any news of any FSX models of the Lancaster? Was watching a doco on Sky tonight and it was featured there, along with the Wellington, Blenheim and others.

Seems like a pretty good model of the Wellington from Justflight too, anyone got that? is it the model done by First-Class-Simulatons or the Halycon guys, or are they the same?
While we're at it, how about the Virtavia Blenheim, is that the only FSX compatible payware-ish model?

I do have the First Class Simulation Wellington , its good in respect it makes you feel as if you in a pre war bomber .. but they never seem to finish parts .. example move forward and the propeller hubs float mid air .. that sorta thing . their Lancaster is a little better ... just don't touch the Sunderland ! .. thats a shocker .
