Zac - one of our members is working on the Spitty repaint for the Real Air Spit ..check out the screenshot comp thread

Heh - that'd be me:

Just waiting for feedback from my beta tester before I release it...I was wondering though, should I ask the owner (i.e. Brendon Deere) for permission before I release it?

Definitely YES ... he'll probably feel *honoured*. Who knows, you may even get an "official" endorsement/stamp of approval! The repaint certainly looks as beautiful as the original.

I think we sometimes forget that these aircraft that we love so much today were flown by real people in the past ... with families etc. Some survived - many, tragically, didn't. So ... out of respect for all concerned - I think you should ask him! thumbup1.gif

As I side note - anyone doing Doug Brooker's Spit? Maybe an FS version will have some inbuilt crash detection/protection winkyy.gif

Well, I was thinking of doing a series of repaints for the RealAir spit...I've kind of caught the bug now! So yeah, Doug Brookers spit (Colin Gray's colours as 81 Sqn OC) but obviously only as a single seater, since there is no TR model in the RealAir package...I was thinking of also doing a Johnny Checketts one too...any other suggestions?

Hmm...good spot on the wing walkway...I'll sort that out...as for the leading edge, you mean the yellow stripe? That is actually there, it just doesn't show up very well in my screenshot...I don't have the red colouring over the cannon ports though...

Mark - PM me for Brendon's contact details. He's been a big help to me with my repaint, allowing me to get up close and personal with the lady. He's a great guy, and I've already let him know about your project.....I think he likes it winkyy.gif

Drat! Already submitted my screenshot comp pic for this month! Still time for *someone* though!

Well done - I'll bet you're MEGA chuffed winkyy.gif

I have the Real Air Spit, so I'll grab your file - give it a whirl and submit it to the database New_Zealand_etc.gif

Anyone at all keen to do a New Zealand repaint for AF Scrub's freeware Spitfire TR.IX (available at FlightSim.com as "sptfir9t.zip")?

The New Zealand-based example is MH367/ZK-WDQ, pictured here:

I've PM'd one repaint master, but it would be great to see it done, no matter who by. Such a paint is a little beyond my skills winkyy.gif

Hi Mark,

Just wondering if your paint will work with the FS9 version of the RealAir Spitty as well?

Cheers

Hmmm....not sure - it was done using the paint kit for the FSX version, probably depends how similar the two models and their textures are I guess....

Does the FS9 version come with the Mk.IX? I thought it was just the XIV?

Zac's request would be awesome, even for a single seater Real air spitty?

Just a follow up on the FS9 question...as the textures are in .dds format they are a no go in FS9...

Some FSX Realair Mk IX textures will work on the Mk XIV FS9 model if they are in .bmp format

Cheers

I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in a ZK-TEX repaint for Milton Shupe's beautiful Beech D18S. I know Aerosoft has done it already, but for me Milton's Beech gives much more pleasure because of those small details. If you'd be interested, please let me know, cos I wouldn't start a project this big if there wasn't any interest.

Regards
daniel
