Hi guys,

I heard a rumour that Aerosoft is doing a total revamp of the Twin Otter for FSX....? Is it true?

deeknow there is a "fictitious" Air New Zealand Twin Otter paint over at OZx "aussiex.org". You maybe interested?

http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/...win-otter-anzl/

Cheers.

Have heard a whisper or 2 on that myself, not that the current version is lacking in anything really.

Aerosoft is indeed doing a completely new version, from scratch. It'll be a realistic systems representation of the aircraft, in line with the current quality of their offerings such as the OV-10 Bronco, and Diamond Katana.

Mate if you have the PIS PNG Combo with the twater you can't go wrong. I spent about 4 months visting every airstrip modelled, and it was great flying with REX, made for some challenges. Go for it! This is still is one of my fav Civil A/C - I normally fly Mil Airlift.

Paul , i did a couple airports for FS2004/FS9 .. mentioned tonight a NZ Bermuda Triangle on TV3 News , did one for PNG , a PNG Bermuda Triangle , Goroka - Wewak Boram and Mt Hagen , i did enjoy the region and even using maps was a wicked challenge , with today,s weather packages it would be ideal to return once the otter rebuild is done , be interesting .. for current owners would it be low price upgrade , Aerosoft is very honest with there deals , Bronco sold me on that , so PNG , i may look at it tomorrow in that very plane .

About Papua New Guinea , years ago i was a bee worker for my brother , helping to clear sites after he destroyed houses , ripping out old windows and placing in others .. Double glaze .. shite it was a lot of fun not only for the work but also the people we bumped into .

One happening to be a Dutch missionary couple , typical me spot photos on the walls and stated asking questions ... this was what made the job so special , they followed us around the two going three days there asking , talking about the Cannibals , even had weapons .. blowpipes , old bow and some horrible lethal arrows .. the cannibals ... they don,t eat you cos they are hungry more its to give them strength , the one thing that stuck out , in the PGN high land s most tribes (family groups) live up trees .. hundred and hundreds of different tribes .. the language , it was'nt dialects it was from memory over 820 different languages ... boy imagine trying to learn that lot .

Sounds real interesting Ian. Oddly enough while I was waiting in hospital today while my boy had an operation the subject of New Guinea came up with a Dutch fella who was in the waiting room too. He served there in the 1960’s and loved the place and had some entertaining stories to tell.

I wasn't convinced I need the Twater, but a visit to PIS and I was a convert, there were links to some fantastic repaints for it. I wrote a review for another NZ site but it was never put up... I'll hunt it down. Did a few legs in the Default Caravan and got the BN Islander was released part way into the trip too. I’ve been intending to the trip again in the Bou, and perhaps a few legs in the Crescendo Caravan or PC-6, but with as sick partner and three year old at the moment the only flying I’m doing is in my sleep.

The good thing about the PIS combo was it had a flight plan to cover all modelled airports so you don’t randomly fly around.

I’ll track down the review I did and try to get it posted… some time.

I d/loaded a PNG mesh this evening after finding a couple amazing boobs in the default , it is an interesting area and its strange since its so close to OZ ORBX did'nt go in there and fix it .. guess to below then but many spots and field would suit there airport design ideas and now with more Utube vid dose make for an interesting spot in the hi-lands
