Mount Cook livery for Jahn DC-3/C-47 Please

Postby Aharon » Wed Oct 28, 2020 2:29 am

Shalom and greetings,

Do any of you have Mount Cook livery for latest version 3.12 Jahn C-47/DC-3 model base in your computer please that you can send to me?? I know that Adamski has in his servers but he is overswarped with his very busy real life obligations and it will take him too long time to look for it in his old servers.

If you have the livery as seen on the photos below, please let me know the name of repainter so that I can ask him or her permission FIRST before asking you to send me the livery because it is against copyright rules to re-distribute liveries without permission from repainters.

Adamski suggests that I should ask Doug on NZFF forums who might have that livery. Who is Doug and what is his screenname please?

BTW, can anybody tell me what airport is that in that second photo please so that I can recreate on FSX, please?

Thanks,

Aharon

Splitpin,

Do not understand your statement?????? The Mount Cook livery for Jahn C-47 had been already painted long time ago and was offered in the old website of Adamski for many people to download hence me asking many people if they have this livery in their pcs that they can send to me because Adamski is too busy with real world obligations and I did not want to bother him asking him to spend long time looking for the livery in his old servers containing old website.

I was not asking for new repaint therefore your repaint request for Bristol plane remains first in the line.

Shalom Aharon

I've investigated this for you.

Unfortunately you have made some assumptions and statements that are incorrect.

I will reference you back to your original SOH Forum Thread Douglas C-47 v3 Livery Thread Posting from 5th September 2020.

Where you clearly stated the following "Has anyone painted this livery as seen below please for FSX use?? If not, can anybody take up on this repaint please?"

Adam Replied back with : "Hi Aharon, buddy .. did you try posting on NZFF? I could have sworn I saw a post from you *somewhere* asking about "old" C-47/DC-3 liveries ...

I used to try to keep up with all the NZ liveries on my old version of NZFSIM, but it all got too time-consuming to keep updating. *However* ... I can check my old archives to see what I have. I think Doug (at NZFF) also has some of the old ones.

Was it for FSX or P3D you were after?"

By appearances you may have misinterpreted Adam's Reply back to you.

Now that I've done the investigative search high and low for you on the Flightsim.com Library and also through the AVSIM Library. I've been unable to find any Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model that you've purportedly stated had been already painted a long time ago.

The nearest I could find was on the AVSIM Library for Mount Cook Airline Douglas C-47 for retro AI traffic, with 2 variants utilizing the SBAI DC-3 model set. This package is optimized for FSX/P3D with 32-bit textures. Aircraft model and paint kit by Sergey Bunevich, repaints by Michael Pearson. sbai_dc-3_nzm.zip

Given the fact that no one else has come forward with saying that they have the Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model on their PC's that they could send to you.

Regretfully I must say that there is No Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model version 3.12 currently available.

While also regretfully saying that you've made an incorrect assumption and purported that Adam has previously offered a Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model as having been already painted long time ago that was in the old servers website NZFSIM.

This simply is not True and misleading.

Therefore you are in-fact asking the exact same question that you raise on the SOH Forum Thread.

"Has anyone painted a Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model as seen in the real world photos, for FSX use?? If not, can anybody take up on this repaint please?"

This would mean you would need to understand and wait your turn in the queue line order of other repaint requests, that would be considered ahead of any requests for the Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model as per the statement.

If Adam sees and reads this, perhaps if he could confirm that he has done a search back through his old archives to see if he ever did an old Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model.

The Mount Cook C-47/DC-3 model livery would likely be a rare request. Meaning that you are the only one interested in obtaining this livery.

It would be great for you Aharon, if he has.

However I suspect that a Mount Cook livery for the Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model was/has never been done previously by Adam or anyone else, otherwise you would've had an answer back by now.

You could also try to request a Repaint through the New Zealand General Aviation Repaints website they do Repaints For FSX/P3D and X-Plane 10/11. They have previously done a Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model in the Air Chathams Livery.

All you need to do is click on this link to the Repaint Request Form to complete your details such as your name and email address.

Then in the Repaint Request section type in: Manfred Jann C-47/DC-3 model for FSX in the livery of Mount Cook.
Then in the section Repaint Details: Give them as many details as possible of what you are wanting give them the links to your reference picture photos where possible.

Unable to guarantee that you will get a response from them, but it's worth a try. You can also find them on Facebook in this link New Zealand Aviation Repaints and Photography.

Radar88,

Thanks for clarifications and for clearing everything up. I thought Adamski said he has it in his old website.

But hey at least I did make correct statement telling Splitpin that his request for Bristol repaint remains first in the line.       :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

At your suggestion, I did send repaint request to your suggested sources but I am afraid that in view of their collection of all repaints for only fancy payware add ons they might not honor such request for freeware add on

Surprised me that I am the only person asking for Mount Cook repaint!!! Gee I thought flying C-47/DC-3 into Mount Cook airport would be exciting for anyone!

Once again, thanks for clarifications and for clearing everything up.

As one of the 2 repainters for NZGAR, ill take a look at this repaint for you. We havnt been as active as we would like due to real world commitments and the fact that both of us have now moved to xp11. I should have some free time this weekend so ill take a look.

Shalom and greetings Matt,

Thank you very much for your consideration on Mount Cook livery for Manfred Jahn C-47/DC-3 model base for use of FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2. Hope to see your livery and would love to fly Mount Cook livery.

Good morning Matt,

At your request, I sent you PM to remind you about the Mount Cook livery for the use of FSX Deluxe with SP1 and SP2 for latest version of Manfred Jahn C-47/DC-3 model base.

Considering the fact I am not exactly clear or knowledgeable about time zone difference between USA and New Zealand, I just sent you reminder via PM today (Thursday) figuring out it must be Friday in your New Zealand time zone. Hope I am correct about my guessing on time zone difference.
