Great stuff, looking Good. You gonna include stuff at hovercontrol.com? A bunch of NZ repaints there.

And a real minor Usability thing, the "Select" button might be better labelled "Search", I know you dont really need to click it as such but some folks will go looking for a 'Search' button dry.gif
Deans repaints: http://www.deeknow.com/
X570 Mini-ITX m/b - Ryzen7 5700X3D (8c/16t) - RTX 2060-super - 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 - Win10 - P3Dv5.3

Thanks, deek ... I've always hated the word "Select" anyway ... and "Search" is much more appropriate/accurate. I'll swap it over. Thanks for the link also ... thumbup1.gif

NZ255 - the "Add a comment" link may only show in the FULL (expanded) listing ... lemme go check that ...

I'm not convinced that the "reduced" listing is worth having. It's still pretty busy - looks bad (compared to the full listing) - and doesn't show all the information.

Is it more trouble than it's worth?

Just to let folks know ... I've heard back from FlightSim.Com ...

A polite "please refrain" email. Hardly surprising, and quite understandable. So ... that means all contributors have a little more work to do.

1) We have to provide our own thumbnails (from screenshots or from the archive itself, if it's freeware).
2) Write our own descriptions (gasp!!) with no cut'n'paste (like what you did for your school/college essays laugh.gif).
3) No direct linking - we'll just have to explain how to find the file in the description.

I would expect all the major file hosting sites will take a similar view. Still, we tried! winkyy.gif

Prospective contributors - please note that the task may be a bit more time consuming than we had hoped!

Just reminding people that the RSS feed is working fine now on NZFSIM. It's actually a LOT handier than I expected, as all new additions come through (as they get added) in my browser (Firefox).

For all Firefox users, I've been using this excellent RSS feed scroller: InfoRSS. Warning though - it's a total productivity killer!!! I'm forever clicking on links as I work (mainly the news sites ... but also including NZFF!).

Thanks, Jankees - much appreciated. smile.gif What'd be great for a start, would be a complete list of what you've done - then I can work my way through it, sourcing all the details.
Unless, that is, you'd like to be given access and add them yourself via the admin "back end" (oooeer, missus!).

I believe these are most of them:
Hudson & Harvard from Alphasim
P-51D WWII fighters from A2A/shockwave

AVSIM

Lockheed Hudson RNZAF NZ2035 SJ-F
Lockheed Hudson RNZAF NZ2001 ZX-Z
T-6 Harvard RNZAF NZ1091
T-6 Harvard RNZAF NZ1098 (ZK-ENJ)
T-6 Harvard RNZAF NZ1037
P-51D ZK-PLI "Miss Torque" (for the WWII Fighters version)
P-51D ZK-PLI 'Miss Torque' (for the P-51D/K model)
P-51D Mustangs RNZAF (NZ2410, NZ2415, NZ2423)
P-51D ZK-CCG 'Mobil Mustang'

Sim-outhouse

Most of the above +
Lockheed Hudson RNZAF NZ2013 YZ-R
T-6 Harvard RNZAF NZ1037 (ZK-ENA)
P-51D RNZAF 'NZ2413'

Tell me if you need thumbnails/screenshots, OK?

Thanks for that little lot!!! smile.gif Great to see so many from you. I really didn't know there was so much out there! winkyy.gif

I'll work my way through them. I can always add the larger pop-up pics (for which I need the screenies) later. You should be able to spot yours when they do appear - and you'll be able to see which ones are missing screenies (no border/link on the thumbnail pic to a pop-up).

EDIT: Are these mostly FS2004? If any work reasonably well in FSX (that you know of) let me know. I can always flag it as FS9 + FSX with a rider of some sort.

all work perfectly well in FSX, except for the P-51D/K Miss Torque version, that's FS9 only.
FSX is all I have at the moment.

Great - thanks dor that info. I've added the first one (a Hudson):
Hudson MkIII - NZ2035

Good to see you've included some nice looking screenshots in the archive. Not everyone does this.

Let me know if this entry is OK (I had to cut/edit the description a fair bit) - and if it's OK by you to use your screenshot(s) etc. and I'll work my way through the rest of your repaints.

A beautiful repaint, BTW. I've already blown my budget on the CS 757 and C-130 for a while, but I'm tempted by that Hudson! winkyy.gif

Hi crotius - I see this is your first post ... so ... a HUGE welcome to NZFF. New_Zealand_etc.gif I'm not sure how long you may have been "lurking" here without posting, but I think you'll find the NZFF natives a friendly bunch - and *very* knowledgeable. Quite a few members are either actively involved in aviation or contribute to the MS FS community in some way ... repaints, sceneries etc. There's usually someone here that can answer a question. If not, we're full of opinions anyway winkyy.gif

I must admit that when it came to naming the site (and registering the domain) my mind went a bit blank. The *only* purpose of the site is to compile a listing of NZ aircraft/repaints (not even scenery) - so the name had to somehow reflect that - or not suggest that it does other stuff - much of which is covered by other sites. It doesn't have anything to do with multiplayer - or virtual airlines - which is what nzvirtualwings seems to suggest (to me!). I see the domain hasn't been taken. It's not a bad name - so maybe someone should grab it!

P.S. "nzfsim" isn't that brilliant either laugh.gif but I had a rush of enthusiasm and had to register *something* to get the site visible winkyy.gif. I didn't go for "nzrepaints" as I thought the site might just get extended to cover scenery as well ... maybe later ...

P.P.S. Thanks - have a great 2009 yourself! smile.gif

Looks fine to me, just cut/edit as you like, it's your website after all! Oh, and go ahead using the screenies, have fun!

Thanks, Jan. I think I've completed your little list. Tell me if I've missed any or mixed anything up!

Looks good, but a few details:
- there may be a mistake with NZ1098, you link to an update, but the original download can be found here:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc...mp;FileID=11188 so you may want to link to both downloads

- with the Mustangs, you say the model is by Shockwave, but they have now changed their name to A2A simulations

- and with the FS9 'miss torque' you may want to delete the "WWII Fighters" bit, since not everybody can use this paint with that model (and there's the hi-res version, so why should you want this one?)

apart from that, excellent job. I vaguely recall having done more NZ Harvards, I'll have a look, maybe I never finished them..

Thanks for the corrections, Jan. thumbup1.gif

I think there are loads more Harvards kicking around. I need to do a bit more digging around.
