thanks for that, i think that the boeings look better than the airbuses. the fmc basically is a tool like the gps, but you program in all your waypoints etc for your route, it will then fly it for you, i am sure someone can accurately describe it. you can also select what sid and star you want to fly with it in real time,

I get this:http://www.airliners.net/photos/small/hotlink_big_no_no.jpg

The only thing you can do is send off an email to the Wilco guys explaining that you've lost your code and wait for them to get back to you. winkyy.gif

Which font? Air New Zealand is in Times New Roman, while the reg is in Arial

The "real" Air NZ font is definitely not Times New Roman. I'll try and find out what it actually is. If you look at the comparison below (Times is at the bottom) you can see all sorts of differences - the "W" being the most noticeable. The "A" and "R" are also quite different.

Lemme go dust off my old type books!!!

Well ... the nearest I could find is a font called Trajan Pro ... but it's just a tiny bit light (and the bold is way too bold). The "A" still isn't quite right.

Thanks! ... and no (it's not a default font)... I have it from my previous life as a Graphic Designer. Looking at the logo typestyle - either it's a regular font that I've yet to find, or the designer has created a hand drawn version especially for AirNZ. I had to tweak the proportions of many of those characters to match - and the *weight* is still a tad too light.

What graphics software do you use? I could create a relatively high definition file with all the tweaks with the font pre-rasterised so NZFF repainters wouldn't need to install it.

I'm wondering, though, as I slavishly copy some other designer's work (!!!) ... where do we stand on copyright on things like this? Looking at the gazillions of airline logos that grace all our repainted FS aircraft, there can't possibly be a problem - but it's an interesting question. I'd have thought it'd be good PR for AirNZ to provide the FS community with a decent source of the real logo - rather than have inferior versions "flying" around. Has anyone ever approached them?

I've downloaded some Lufthansa repaints (plus adventures) that look like they were specifically created by Lufthansa for the FS community. I think someone at NZFF should approach AirNZ with an idea for some custom repaints *and* some adventures that show off our beautiful country.
