Convair 580

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

I have uploaded the CV-580 new zealand repaints pack for fs2004 to flightsim,..should be available for download in a day or so. it works sweet in FSX but you will need an alternative panel as the one in the package has mostly non fsx compatible gauges.

Cool. I don't currently have any Convairs in my 'hangar' so this might be worth a download.
Having your paint packs will make it even more worth it thumbup1.gif
Thanks mate.

I have even put the thumbnails in each of the texture folders so as soon as some clever bugger makes a FSX compatible cv-580 panel for it it will be good to go in FSX..

This is the one I've been wanting - I have a half-done paint which I will unceremoniously chuck out now.
The Pepper model has a slight issue with the nose area, but this aircraft is really all about the FANS.
I love models that do prop feathering, and this has a big red button on the dash, marked FEATHER.
Press it, and they do.

I've been a passenger on this aircraft, and it makes a great Executive Charter.
Fast and comfortable, with just enough nostalgia to make the trip special.

Yes, i can finally chuck out my old 580 with its Air Chathams paintjob.
Certainly a very worthwhile addition to the hangers.
Paint jobs very beautifully rendered on all.
Cockpit window shape looks almost like its been grafted in straight from a Fokker F-27 Friendship................

Yeah, nice work Ian. I love them too. I even did a round-the-pacific tour in one a couple of years ago, it was all going swimmingly until my other-half got upset one night while the Cv580 was on auto-pilot and put the thing into a dive into the ocean near Japan, I had to take a screen-shot for posterity...

All we need now is for some clever bugger to make a photoreal Chatham Islands scenery to use with Lawries excellent Chathams Airport,..the default islands look really bad !!.
