It should be fine... this is what is known as a 'False Positive'... and will generally occur when a developer has used a special encryption or compression algorithm to encode the executable so it cannot be cracked and/or to shrink the size...
As Matt mentioned, hackers often use these same techniques and AntiVirus programs cannot tell the difference, which results in the false positive...
If in doubt... contact the developer directly... there is a chance that their server may have been hacked and a virus uploaded...
