Hi Guys,
There are hundreds of aircraft available for download and installation .Some are labelled Original, some A1, and some Repaints .If I want to fly one of these in my ailine without problems which would be the best ?. What does the A1 mean.

You probably mean AI, which stands for "Artificial Intelligence." These aircraft are generally for the "computer's" use, as they are not always as detailed.

Original means just that, that they are the full aircraft model.

Repaints just means that they are an alternative livery (paint) for an aircraft that you have already downloaded.

Hope this helps,

Matt :plane:

Therefore they can be set up to be "traffic". Some AI aircrraft are "flyable" but they are very unrealistic to fly and would look horrible.

On some sites "repaints" may inclue the whole aircraft too, not just a new paint scheme (textures), like the IFDG 320 hasa poilicy of not uploading just the textures by tyhemself, yet it is still placed inthe "repaints and modifications" area.

Thanks for the info . So if I download a repaint how do I know which aircraft it is compatable with. For example I have dowloaded repaint textures of the RAF Tristar and tried installing it on Tristar and Locheed l-1011 models but it just won't happen .What have I got to do to get a match.boldpilot

Repaints are always described for a specific model, so make sure you have the right base model.

Your right Charl. So I did it in reverse. Selected a RAF Tristar add-on texture looked at the aircraft it recommended downloaded that and installed the add-on .As a test flight just touched down after a flight from Melbourne to Adelaide ,did an auto/ILS landing, perfect. Probably fly the Tasman tomorrow if your weather forecast is reasonable . Wife just returned from New Plymouth with webbed feet .Regards, boldpilot
