Every time a do install of fs2004 (the last 4 times) when i'm on to disc #4 it won't be able to copy the world.cab file? it comes up with the options to abort install ,retry copying world.cab or ignore. After many "retrys"I have to take the ignore option.

By pressing ignore the insaller doesnt put that scenery file on to my drive so when i start Fs9 its all a bit strange. After the insaller is finished it says that it wasnt able to copy some files :(

I supose the cab file gets copyed to my fs folder then at the end of insalling when fs says "decompressing scenery files " it must be changing the .cab file into the folder cointaining the scenery and texture files. luckely I always backup my sceney folder so this isnt much of a problem because when i first put fs9 on this pc it had no problem. So for safty iv put the uncompressed world scenery folder on to a disc.

Does anyone know why this is happeing ,is there anywhere i can get just the disc 4 if my one seems to have a problem (i can't see any marks on it ,but since the disc has to go in the drive for fs start up it does get handeld alot)

Yes one of the annoying things of FS9 is the need to have Disc 4 installed! FS2002 did not need this but ther is hope for you..

Nocd Fix from here NO CD FIX

Now if you disc is damaged then you can get a replacement from microsofts website. Not sure of the cost or whats involved.

Problem with reinstalling software is it leaves a trace somewhere when its unistalled and can create problems. You should defrag and use disc clean up to remove any registry traces of it.

If you can get it reinstalled with needing to get a new disc! Then use the NOCD fix saves messing up your disc 4!

I think what he's saying is, in order to SAVE your Disc 4 from wear and tear, it would behoove you to not use it constantly for startup and use the no-CD .EXE file instead. ;)

Go now, for thou hast been behooven! Find ye the file, and downloadeth it so! USE it, that thy Disc 4 may never despair in disrepair again, forsooth!
