Snow on autogen trees is, I think, controlled by a 'seasons' file. I did think about creating a seasons file just for this, but in the end it didn't get done -- the resolution of a seasonal scenery just isn't high enough to place the snowy trees just where you need them.

In the end the seasonal textures were designed more to fit in with the default surrounding textures, rather than based on reality -- otherwise it just stands out too much from the default. It would have been nice to do a real snowy Tekapo, but like most of NZ in FS the winter is a bit lacking in snow. I've been flying around Mt Cook the last couple of days, and even in the middle of winter there's not a lot of snow!

In FSX you can choose a 'winter' weather theme, in which case the whole country is covered in snow, but since this is tied to the weather rather than the season there is no way to logically build a matching scenery -- I've tried and failed...

Wanaka won't have seasonal textures, and I didn't intend to do them for Tekapo, but in the end I've gone a bit overboard with Tekapo...

Just need a few Gippslands...goodonya for going the extra distance with the snowy landscape.
I reckon it adds much more than just a season to the basic scenery.
