Hi there smile.gif

Making scenery isn't the easiest and takes alot of time, patience and commitment to do.
It also depends how realistic you want to make it, like whether to make custom photoreal buildings or use default or pre made buildings and objects.
I have had a go at it a few weeks ago and found it quite difficult (maybe its best if I leave it to the experts laugh.gif)
It would be best to read tutorials on how to design scenery as this is probably the best way of learning.
I used Flight Simulator Scenery Creator (which is avalible freeware) by Leung Software for the placement of the buildings and objects.
This program is pretty good considering it is freeware. An alternative is to use something like Runway 12 (freeware) or Abacus EZ Scenery
To make custom buildings, a program such as GMAX or Easy objects would be required. Good luck anyway smile.gif

If you're designing for FS2004, try downloading Lee Swordy's AFCAD program from http://www.flightsimworld.com/downloads/viewfile/49.html. winkyy.gif

If you just want to add objects and taxiways/parking etc to default airports,
AFCAD and Instant scenery (or EZ scenery, very similar but older and its FS9 only) are enough to get you started .

If you want to add new airfields where the sim left them out, you need a flatten tool- FST Flatten
seems easiest for me.
You can do a lot with just those three tools
