An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Hi there,

First I like to thank you for the superb scenery of NZ.

First I was flying in youre beautiful country in FS9, but now I'm trying FSX. I must say it's awesom but..... I can't get the runway (wellington) sharp as in the screenshots. I've reading a lot in the forum and tried several things, adviced by others (reinstall, etc....), but it doen't work.

I've FSX deluxe with SP1 and 2 installed.

I hope you or others can help me with this.

Thanx in advance,

Nico (living in the Netherlands where you don't need any mesh  )

Do you have RealNZ Wellington installed? or are you just using the default FSX scenery?

can you please take a few screenshots and post them up so we can see what you are getting...

I've the RealNZ Wellington installed. Wellington is the only runway which is blurry. Paraparaumu and Marlborough lookes fine.
I'll try to make some screenshots but first have to figure out how to do that.
I'm going out now and will take some time tomorrow to organise this.
Thanx for the fast reply.

The photo texture used for the Wellington runway works a little differently from the default, and it won't look as crisp up close. In particular the centre lines are part of the photo, rather than separate drawn polygons so if your display settings are low or the sim lowers the display quality to cope with overloading then the runway may drop back to a lower mipmap display. However if it is always a bit blurry, then you may need to tweak your settings.
There are some settings recommended in the manual, in particular the Global Texture Size, which must be set to the highest.

Hi there,

I have 2 screenshots but not able to place them in this forum. Perhaps somebody can give me advice on this. I'll allready checked the eagleskinner site and resized the shots.

I've red the Wellington-manual and followed the advice on the settings!

I've also the 20 mtr mesh installed.

There is info on how to put screenshots on the forum here :)

Or, just find the image location, and put it in the following tags:
