placing static aircraft

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

I need some help on what program to use to place static aircraft into scenery.
Have got the Marlb1 scenery sorted out with the 75mesh. Now want to add the Safe Air Bristol at Omaka and the Argosy just outside Woodbourne.

well im not sure you know what is involed but here goes as much as i can tell you
first you would need an object placer like rwy12 freeware and avalible at avsim or flightsim.com,now about you aircraft rwy12 for exsample has some already made up aircraft with there static objects library from designers but as you said you would want (Safe Air Bristol at Omaka and the Argosy just outside Woodbourne.)
so if you wanted them you would have to make them add them to rwy12 static library then place them :(
but im thinking you already have some sort of model of these aircraft so i also think you mite be able to make those flight models ai aircraft you would need (traffic tool) i think from microsoft sdk tools at there site. and i suppose youd just program them to stay at parking or you could asign them to do round trips then park up at times

object placers are handy if you know what to do and if you can model abit
freeware placer (rwy12) freeware and (abacus EZscenery payware) they both come with lots of objects to place not just aircraft ,,
well im sure charl will see the ai part and coment to if this is possable with traffic tools
mike....

It is possible if you have an aircraft already (preferably AI of course because of framerates) to have it behave like a static object.
All you'd do is:
1. add a parking space to the airport with specific specs in Afcad
2. make sure your (AI) aircraft has these specs in the aircraft.cfg file
3. create a flightplan for the aircraft so it flies only once a week, by night preferably, back and forth to a nearby other airport.

By doing so the aircraft will basically always turn up at the specific airport, at the specific parking location :D

hmm cant figure out how to post the flightplans?? any way hope someone can give me some idea's.
Have added more parking spaces and the radius are large enough for the planes to show. sorry am a bit vague but am a newbie at thispart of FS9

Many folk think AI is just slapping together a few paints and hanging them on a flightplan.
Well, last time I counted, there were 172 different ways to get AI not to work.
My admiration for the PAI folks is boundless, and my sympathy for the VOZ AI crash, also.
Do yourself a favour and download the MS traffic toolbox (if you haven't already):

http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/fs20 ... lbox%20SDK

This has many useful features, not least of which is to show if AI is alive and flying around somewhere, in FS actual time.

Try this simple little FP (Use an A/C number from your aircraft.txt file):
AC#2025,XYZ,10%,24Hr,IFR,23:00:00,TNG23:58:15,160,R,0012,NZWB,04:01:00,TNG04:59:32,161,R,0012,NZWB

Also make sure NZWB is listed in your airports.txt file

Park on the grass at 22:55 GMT and see if they fly. If yes, then you probably have OK aircraft + AFCAD's and can look to your FP.

Hope this is of some help

Thanks for your help everyone
I have now got the Aircraft on the field thanks for the flightplan Charl .looks like that was my prob. well back to studying up on flightplans.
Now i need to study up on how to keep a plane at the airport all day and do a flight at night so that it will be back in the right place during the day .
Thanks again
