Hey.

Does anyone know if there is a Paraparaumu airport scenery out there?

It would be really cool to get my home field on my Sim

Yes, when I was in Paraparaumu I wasn't able to take my normal flight over the airport for ground textures, and it can't be a Real NZ project without them. I am planning to release a fairly basic model though to match the Real NZ photoreal.

I did build a "quickie" Paraparaumu airport scenery, for testing purposes during the development of the Retro-AI # 2 Post and Cargo Pack.
It fits into the RealNZ Wellington photoreal nicely. Its not accurate in its building layout, as i was only going from and old memory from the last time i was there many years ago, but the runways etc are in the right place. I was going to develop it further, if i could get some decent pics of the place, but if Robin is still going to go ahead with his freeware NZPP, then i dont think its worth me bothering to re-do it properly. See link below for pics..................

I'll try and make a basic one as soon as I send snowman the Retro Wellington to test.
(sorry about the long time I got a bit lazy and also a few other commitments came up but once I put in a hanger it shall be complete allowing me to carry on with other things)

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

I will look forward very much to testing out your Retro Wellington scenery for you Kelburn.
Not a bad idea to do an NZPP scenery. I dont know how long its going to be before Robin finds the time to do his freeware one to fit into RealNZ Wellington ( i would imagine it will be some time, due to all the other commitments he has), but a reasonable likeness of the layout of the place would certainly please a lot of people.
I dont really have the time at the moment to improve on the "quickie" that i did. Too many other projects on the go that need to be finished.

Am starting one now. I am still pondering on which method to use. I don't know how to use gmax so I will be using FSSC. I may use satellite stuff as the textures etc. But I'm working on it. I use EOD (easy object designer) does anybody know of any other api designers that are fee and easy to use?

where can I get high resolution satellite mapping that I can legally use?
I tried LIZ but it isn't high enough around Paraparaumu.
Google earth has a reasonably resolution but I'm not sure of the legality of using it.
